Tap @ the Jamaica Plain brewery. Pours a dark amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is largely smoky and hoppy, with malt detectable as well. Taste is the same, with a dry and sharp finish. Very enjoyable beer and a great representation of the style. shrubber85 (11460) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 16, 2007
Tap (from Boston Brewery tour). Smoky bread malt aroma. Dark brown amber with moderate head. Smoky/tangy malt flavor with light hops finish. Mild astringent/dry finish. A nice example of the style but wasn’t a favorite of most of the college age people on the tour.
