COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

I have never thought of a wheat beer as a summer beer, maybe its just me? I know Sam Adams claims to know how to make good beer but this the the third "newish" SA brew that has underwhelmed. Color is pale, little to no lingering head but has a decent fruity aroma that somewhat fools you into thinking its going to have flavor. There are very subtle citrus tones and what tasted to me like clove or nutmeg (Grains of Paradise I guess). After one and a half bottles I felt a little nausiated. I cant imagine drinking much more than I did, too many competing flavors but none that stand out, a mishmash if you will and not a good one. Wheat beers arent my favorite but this one finishes at the bottom the pack.

Hazy light golden-straw color with a lively head of white foam. Peppery, grassy, and lightly zesty lemon characters in the aroma and flavor. Sam Adams variation of Blue Moon.

Draft Pint in March 2015 - Hazy Pale Gold in colour. Small white head. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Fruity; citrus lemon. Spicy; peppery. Sweetish malty fruity throughout. Not particularly exciting, but easy drinking and quite refreshing. (2015-03)

0.355l bottle from bierlinie in berlin, bb 08/2016. pours a murky orange with a dense white head. aroma of cinnamon, wheat, coconut. flavour of cinnamon, wheat, spices, honey, ginger, pepper. ok, it is out of date, but seriously, a summer ale? much more like a winter one. should try it fresh next time.

De geur is redelijk futloos. Een lichtblond bier. De smaak is redelijk waterachtig. Een tegenvaller.

Cloudy dark straw color with dense storming activity. Slightly frothy white 2 finger head that last for 5 minutes, making some average leggings. Flavors of caramel, wheat, sweet grains, corn, citrus, noble spices. Slick medium body with excessive carbonation. Light and short finish, ending with a roasted malty feel and a thick sugary syrupy feel. Overall I find this one not very well craft from the lack of intensity and balanced flavors. Overly sweet and feels adjunct.

An american, amber, unfiltered "summer ale" with white head. Aroma is a bit bad. Malt, cheese, phenol. Taste is bitter. Infected? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Herb hefiger, hintergrndig orangiger Antrunk. Im Mittelteil bleibt die leichte Fruchtigkeit erfreulicherweise erhalten, geringe Wrzigkeit, hohe Sffigkeit. Spritzig, gelungen. 10/9/11/10/11/11
