COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Draught @ The Bishops Arms, Norra Vallgatan 62, 201 80, Malmo, Sweden.

Unclear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, pale malt - wheat, fruity. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, black pepper notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120617]

From tap and 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a little off-white head. Aroma is fruity, a bit of corn, but mainly fresh citrus fruity. Flavour is sweet, slight citric, orange. Gets dry and bitter in the finish.

A hazy yellow beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sweet and with extreme notes of lemon, but also wheat is present. The flavor is very fresh with notes of wheat and lemon, but a thin body. A fresh summer beer, but too boring for me.

Bottled at DBF 2005. Clear yellow coloured with a white head. Strange fruity aroma. Watery flavour of fruits and hops. Boring.

Draught. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Malty caramel flavor with hints of citrus and hops. Fruity malty citrus flavor with some weak hints of caramel. Sweetish malty finish with hints of citrus and honey in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, citrus fruit and some nutty hints. Flavour is pepper, soft curry and other spices, along with a hoppy finish. Not sure what to say, i think it’s wellbalanced, but can’t really say if good or bad. Drinkable and smooth.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Golden, slightly hazy beer with a nice, creamy head. Pronounced citrusy/orangey flavours. At first I didn’t taste the wheat, but I don’t suppose it’s added in big quantities. Contains the mystery spice "Grains of Paradise", whooo.... The American brewers are good storytellers too. A very able thirst quencher on a hot day.

Medium golden amber color, medium white head. Aroma of light citrus and straw. Taste is similar, but little of the wheaty characteristics of a weizen.

Leighton (21239) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2009
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2010 Bottle. A very average summer offering. Poured a mildly hazy light yellow fith a fine, fizzy head. Aroma of lemon and spice. Taste of wheat and lemon with a nice hop crispness. Finished sweetly. Pretty drinkable but nothing special and even a little bland.
