COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste. The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee. This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry and citrusy hop finish.

Dark ruby pour with a moderate haze and a fairly thick, soapy lace - aroma of earthy, herbal, peppery hops, brown sugar, toffee, some vanilla, light dark fruit - medium body, soft carbonation - flavor of earthy and peppery hops up front, followed by moderte toffee sweetness and light notes of darker fruits - finish brings another blast of spicy hops - tasty - reminds me a bit of Arrogant Bastard in its heyday.

11 ounce pour - Taco Mac in Canton, Georgia.

Appearance: Served up a clear, very dark amber-hued body with an inch of lightly yellowed foam. Lasting layers of lace tracking my progress.

Smell: Toasted bread toasted enough to yield burnt edges, milk caramel (like a Sugar Daddy), citric, pithy citrus fruits, and a light but interminable element of spice.

Taste: A big start of malty breadiness with some darkened toast and plenty of chewy caramel candies. Fast florals, lemon, and a layer of heavy grapefruit with a persistent spiciness running its course. Moderate bitterness. Drying, pithy finish with some enduring bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Maybe a little chewiness present.

Overall: I was pleasantly surprised by this one. BBC did a good job with this release.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of spicy grass and piney hops with a citrus grapefruit note. Sweet caramel malts. Very dark red hue with an off-white head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and heavy bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall a spicy IPA that is about average.

Not much to say as it seems to stack up to similar type beers. Some good hops, a little citrus and pine. Nothing really stood out to separate it from the rest of the pack.

Bottle pours deep red with an off-white head. Aroma shows caramel, light roast, pine, and a slight herbal character. Flavor shows the same with more toffee/cookie than caramel, as well as some earthy citrus. Overall body is moderate and the bitterness is fairly balanced.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby color with over a two finger frothy head and tons of lacing. Aroma is piney and citrusy hops, with some sweet caramel malts as well in the back. Taste is piney, bitter hops up front with some underlying caramel malts. Finishes with floral and piney hoppiness at the end. Slightly oily and resinous. Nice blend of malt and hops.
