2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured a nice clean amber with a light off white head.
The smell is light and caramel with just a touch of piney hops, very lacking in the dry hopping for a double IPA, not even as hoppy as many good single IPAs.
The flavor has a nice bitterness to it, with a big caramel malt backbone, much closer to balanced than I like Double IPA’s to be. Not much on hop flavor, just bitterness with lingering malty sweetness.
The mouthfeel has a light oily resin to it, but is a bit light on carbonation.
With Simcoe becoming so hard to come by, this beer seems like a waste of its talents, to malty, no dry hopping and a bit boring.
Pours a clear amber with a small off white head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is a floral hop and pine. Thick mouthfeel with a strong hop bite and caramel with lingering bitter finish. Alcohol present but not too overpowering. A 9/11

deep amber - red color; piney, herbal hop aroma; juicy, piney hop flavor with herbal notes on a thick, bready malt base with some caramel notes Zuko (16) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - AUG 14, 2016
Pours a hazy copper with light sediment and a large off white head. Surprisingly balanced double ipa. You can taste the hops on the tip of your tongue, but the malt quickly takes over. Not overwhelming though. Quite nice double ipa and doesn’t taste like the 8 percent that it is. rondphoto (4468) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - AUG 14, 2016
bottle from Liquor Barn / Lexington KY --- Aroma of hops and malt. Nearly clear amber brown color, off-white fluffy head that takes it time to drop off, bands of lace. Taste is caramel malt that meets it’s match in solid hops after a robust, fizzy, toffee-ish swallow. Big and bold, quite enjoyable. Interesting that the malt could stand up to strong hop presence. I could easily drink this again, but probably not. It’s stronger than I prefer. Cajun (534) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Bottle - Pours dark amber, white head. Big aroma of citrus fruit, ripened other fruit, flowers, spice, and fruit loops. Flavor is bold... big smack of citrus, with fermented fruit, pancakes, lemon peel...hoppy finish. Medium bodied.

Pours a cloudy medium amber. Aromas of hops/hops/sweet malts. Flavor grapefruit with a little sweetness and finishes with a nice bite. coyforce (684) - California, USA - JUL 14, 2015
Wonderful pour on this brew. Huge thick white lingering head. Delicious flavor of light grass and while this is a double ipa, it comes in very smooth. LadySusan (766) - Ste-Therese, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 20, 2015
Bottle from Westmire beverage. The color is a clear copper with a thick beige head and nice lace. The aroma is of hops and citrus fruits. The taste also as above plus sweet malt, yeast and notes of some kind of spice, the 8% alcohol is not that noticable. The finish has a nice bitterness that I like. katrinaez (2085) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 8, 2015
Amazing smooth flavor. I never would have guessed it was an 8%. Not overly hoppy not thick and heavy, nice. Surprised that it was a Boston. Tap. ordybill (1801) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 23, 2015
Poured from a Bomber into a tulip glass.
Aroma- Has a hop smell with some malt tossed in.
Appearance- A copper colored brew with a medium to large white head.
Taste- A Double IPA with a healthy dose of grapefruit flavor.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
Overall- I did not care for this beer. I was surprised I normally am I fan of SA beers. I was not a fan of the heavy grapefruit flavor.
