COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Triple Bock is complex, elegant, and has the depth and complexity of a fine cognac, vintage port or an old sherry. Non-carbonated, ruby-black, and very special, Triple Bock should be sipped from a small snifter in a two-ounce serving. This is a beer to savor, and sip slowly. Triple Bock has a brandy-like warmth and a complex melange of fruity, woody, and toffee-like flavors. Let the aroma fill your mouth and nose with rich malt and fruit overtones. Savor and appreciate its enormous character. Serve Triple Bock as you would a fine sherry, at room temperature, in a small snifter. One bottle generously serves two or three. Recork and store standing up. Once poured into a small glass, the layers of aroma and flavor will continue to evolve as the deep ruby brew warms in the hand.

There have been only three vintages produced: 1994, 1995 and 1997, but bottles can still be found in the marketplace. 1994 and 1995 vintages are marked as such on the back label; 1997 vintage is not.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 250 ml. bottle sampled @ Epic beer Tasting 2016. 1997 Vintage. Pours black with zero head. Nose is very thick soy sauce, Teriyaki sauce & even more sauce, alcoholic going to varnish & model glue, Crazily heavy on the soy sauce. Taste is very heavy soy sauce leading into really extreme sweetness, similar to Sirop de Lige but even sweeter, sweetness on this is beyond all bounds, I didnt realize that anything can even be this sweet, cloying beyond all possibilities, dark prune syrup, alcohol is largely obscured. Taste is not necessary bad but it is cloying to the point of being completely & utterly undrinkable for me. Low umami notes, insanely thick syrup. I cannot stomach this. It exceeds all known sweetness for me & goes even futher.

Pours a deep dark brown color. Aroma smells like I opened an old steamer trunk, yeasty, musty, moldy. Flavors of soy sauce, yeast, peppery spice, and alcohol. Didnt like this one at all.

1997 Vintage... Aroma is super concentrated maltiness, honey, soy/fish/oyster sauce; pours like soy sauce, opaque, glassy, no carbonation, no head; super, super, super sweet (sweeter than sack mead and definitely the sweetest beer Ive ever had), lots of rich complex flavors, umami, really intense black licorice, prune, raisin, tobacco juice, concentrated semi-sweet chocolate, warming but alcohol isnt overly obvious; medium, really syrupy body (coats the glass), sticky; really interesting beer and unlike anything Ive ever had and I like it... Its really more like beer concentrate!

97(?) drinken in 2016 APPEARANCE- pure black, no carbonation apparent, no head (see prior phrase), and has a tremendous NOSE- black licorice and balance of sweetness. alcohol is pungent. FLAVOR- black licorice x 10^3. I cannot deny the rumors of soy. NOTES- this may be the first beer Ive drinken that has noticeable legs.

1995 bottle at the DC March Tasting, thanks radagast83! Dark brownish, no head. Aromas of caramel, soy sauce, toffee, roast, tobbaco. Tastes of dark fruit, smoke, oak, tobacco, soy sauce. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Actually not that bad after 20 years. Like a chocolately barley wine. Thick and oily consistency. Sweet and remarkably free of booze. Light soy. Bottle, big thanks to Travlr.

1995 bottle, filtered to exclude the cork. Dark clear ruby brown color, flat. Aroma of overbaked chocolate brownies. Taste has port wine, tannins. Interesting.

Ive always wanted to try this. A friend still has a few bottles, 1995 vintage, he says the taste has changed very little over the years. Fast forward to now. Wow a malt and booze bomb. Smooth, with burn at the end. Way too sweet though with no balancing issue but for the booze. Very dark and flat, intriguing looking. Nose is decent and interesting. Brandy, plums, booze, tea. Actually, this was a bit better than I thought it would be.

Smells like raisin juice. Its not thick but muddy. Lots of sediment. Taste is malty raisin. No complexity left, flat. Not bad but a taste is enough.
