COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To create Utopias, the brewers at Sam Adams used traditional brewing ingredients including all four types of Noble hops, which add a slightly earthy, herbal taste. The spiciness of the hops really comes alive. In fact, Utopias MMII has even been described by some as almost "fiery" -- a fitting description for the strongest beer in history. Beyond the special brand of hops, Utopias features ingredients that truly set it apart from other varieties of beer. Utopias MMII contains caramel and Vienna malts for its rich amber color and several different types of yeast including a variety found in champagne. $100 a bottle and it's limited to 3000 bottles, which look like copper brew kettles.

Bottle shared by Marcus. This beer has legs. The aroma is cognac. A hint of maple when it comes close to the nose. Very thick body with hardly any carbonation. There is heat. It burns down the throat. It’s a bit maple-like, and rather woody. Some brown sugar in the finish. Much more impressive than the Triple Bock.

Scopey (15704) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2017
Bottle at Leighton’s gaff. Massive thanks to MR 201k himself. It pours oily, dark red - amber with no head. The aroma is rich, oily, varnish, raw alcohol, light oxidised vibe, toffee, vanilla, plum and fruit compote. The taste is rich, slick, oily, plenty of tangy fruit, jammy, marzipan, bakewell tart, warming alcohol, fruit compote, wood, toffee and port wine with a boozy and warming finish. Full body, limited carbonation and slick mouth - feel. I was surprised just how good this was. Great stuff.

GABF 2008 poured a clear brown with no head. Aromas of maple, carmel, vanilla and alcohol. Palate was medium bodied, smooth syrupy and hot. Flavors of maple, carmel, vanilla, pepper and alcohol with a smooth, hot lingering sweet fin ish.

This is truly a hot sticky sweet mess of a beer!

Bottle 2002. Pours a cloudy brown color with a minimal creamy off-white head that diminished and produced minimal lacing. Heavy complex aroma of roasted malt , maple sugar.
