This traditional lager is brewed in the classic European style using only hand-selected noble hops and specialty malts. A generous portion of Vienna malt is used to impart a robust, malty flavor and a smooth clean finish.Brewed in the Sam Adams tradition of quality.

This brew poured a large head of light brown fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left a good lacing and a transparent hazy light brown colored body behind. It has a very nice malt aroma and a smoothe mouthfeel from start to finish. It has a nice malted caramel flavor. This was a suprisingly nice brew from the Boston Beer Company.

Copper red color with a big puffy off-white head. Aroma of German malts and Hallertau hops. Body is sweet and earthy, but somewhat thin. Finishes sticky and lightly bitter. A pretty decent beer and one of Sam Adams' better beers.

Reddish brown with white head. Nice malt aroma. Feels thick - requires slow drinking. Flavor is mostly malty(light touch of caramel), just a little yeasty. Aftertaste is smooth and pleasant malt. Overall an enjoyable brew.

12 oz bottle, pint glass. Nice looking light red-brown body has an average sized off-white head, which is creamy and slowly diminishing. Moderate caramel/cookie malt aroma. Light flowery hops. Light doughy yeast. Moderately sweet throughout. Slightly acidic, slightly bitter finish. Moderate sized body is watery with soft carbonation. Typical Sam Adams aftertaste. Very drinkable. Average overall, but looks like gold next to BMC swill.

Not very flavorful. I expect much more malty flavor with a Vienna. It looks like Sam Adams trying to be more like the big American brewers every day.

Not too bad. POured beautifully. A nice dark color. Probably could't drink more than two or three in the summertime. Save for a cool autumn evening.

beer poured a dark amber color with a slightly off white head. A good malty aroma that carried threw on the taste. However it finsihed with a sour taste too it.

Good beer. Pretty malty, and a very refreshing taste. Thoroughly enjoyed this beer, which is much better than almost any other major brew.

Diablokev (181) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - JUL 15, 2003
The aroma is hoppy, with hints of malt. The apperance is a deep amber with a thick off white head. The flavor is a mild with a light bitter aftertaste. The beer is smooth. Overall not bad.

This was my favorite beer so far. Hardly bitter at all. Nice dark honey color. And decent head. I paid about 8 dollars for a six pack.
