My least favorite beer from Samuel Adams. Very boring. I was expecting a better color, less like the mass-produced lagers of St. Louis and Milwaukee. The aroma was fresh and not to hoppy or malty. Overall, I just think the beer didn't distinguish itself, especially considering how much I admire other Samuel Adams offerings. SimonPatrice (312) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2003
Copper color, malty caramel aroma. A bit thin. Flavors are malty and nutty. Dry finish. Nothing impressive. CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 9, 2003
(Bottle) Copper body with white head. Sweet malt nose. Malt flavour with bitter undertones. Dry, thin, uncomplex. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 8, 2003
An oversweet caramel spread ends in a dry crême brulée finish...Hops are very shy, and thus disappoint a bit.. raymow (1668) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2003
I really enjoyed this beer. Great appearance, nice pour and great taste. My only complaint was that it didn't finish too well. Excellent (except for the last swig).

Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a light note of peach. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. One of Boston Beer's more drinkable products. jjw2000 (72) - USA - MAY 24, 2003
Medium copper-red color with a white head. Mild aroma is of malt and somewhat bready. Flavor is mild, smooth, and well balanced, with the malt present but not overdone. Finish is similar, clean and somewhat dry. Medium body suits the flavor well. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 23, 2003
Very pretty looking, not much else though. Little in the way of backbone and flavor is lacking. Clean finish, but hardly a robust flavor. PrinceofNessus (236) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 21, 2003
An average beer. It has an inticing aroma, but sadly, it possesses no decent follow-up. overall the beer is watery, and I wouldnt try it it again. 3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 21, 2003
Medium golden brown hue. Smooth, malty aroma with a hint of sour fruit. A suprisingly roasted taste, with a few flavors mixed in: walnuts, licorice, Not what I was expecting.
