COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American version of a traditional Bavarian wheat beer is pale gold in color, flavorful and very enjoyable. Two row malted barley and malted wheat give it a crisp but layered maltiness with a light sweetness. Hand selected Spalt Spalter hops impart a bright finish and Bavarian yeast adds a special spiciness. Cheers! Jim Koch

A nice, subtle take on German Wheat from Boston Beer. Unfiltered and cloudy to style, Sam Adams Weiss Bier pours a tawny, pale orange with a light creamy head. Citris flavors blend nicely with crisp wheat malt. It seemed to be lightly hopped, letting a little sweetness shine through. The mouthfeel was light, bubbly, and refreshing. The only real negative seemed to be a bit of mustiness it the aftertaste. Overall, as a traditional german weiss bier I don’t think that Sam Adams meets the mark, but it is a very good American wheat that I will not hesitate to try again.

Interesting beer. Pours to a cloudy gold with a quickly disappearing head. Initially somewhat fruity with some wheat taste. Finishes off with a tastes of clove and banana.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2006 Unmistakable clove/yeast aroma. Fine-beaded carbonation and a rather slight head. Pale straw-golden color, definitely cloudy (I swirled and poured). Nice light fruity and wheat flavors mix with the banana/clove tastes quite well. This beer somewhat reminds me of the Capitol Kloster Weizen, which is not really a bad thing, since that beer is lovely. Aftertaste has some hop character & more yeast flavor. This is actually not a bad weiss at all, although I would not have been fooled into thinking it was actually German. Light to medium bodied.

Tasty brew with a very smooth finish. Rich, yet sweet flavor. Jim Koch has proven once again why he is the American Master of fine beers. As he says on every Sam Adams bottle, Cheers!

Quite an excellent domestic weiss. I was quite pleasantly surprised. Of course it comes in wussy 12oz bottles but what can you do.

The best American Weiss Beer I have tasted. Beautiful aroma and appearance. The only drawback is that it finishes a little dry and flat. Otherwise an excellent Weiss beer.
