Belgian style white ales have a long history of unique ingredients, as brewers experimented with spices discovered during the spice trade. For our hazy brew we found a refreshing combination of crisp wheat, the tangy sweetness of tangerine & orange peel, and the subtle spiciness of coriander & grains of paradise. Cheers!

Pour otu of 12 oz bottle, hazy orange pour with fizzy white head, aroma brought sweet grain, caramel, lots of orange peel, some slight vanilla, lots of honey, a salty note, hints of coriander in there. Taste is very salty, some slight coriander, hints of bread, going into lots of sweet orange and tangerine, hints of slight grass, yeast, finishing with a sweet but slightly dry finish.

12oz bottle poured into a Weizen glass at 40°. Color is a light yellow gold with a slight haze and a Thin head. Aroma is a mild sour wheat scent with faint citrus notes. It has a light body with a crisp fizzy mouth feel. Flavor is fruity, big tangerine and a touch of lemon, then coriander with a note of white pepper. The after taste is smooth with a bit of the citrus hanging on. Overall its a well done White, much better then most with nice flavors and a refreshing feel.

Best before June 2013.

Appearance: The body is hazy with a straw to amber hue, a bit darker than I like in a witbier, The head is also lacking a little bit in height, but is dense and leaves a creamy coating on top.

Aroma: The aroma reminds me of lemon scented dish soap. It’s not awful, but it’s not pleasing either.

Taste: Slightly spicy, slightly sweet, with prominent lemon mostly on the finish. This is okay.

Palate: Medium to full bodied, lively carbonation.

Overall: This is an okay beer, but I think it comes off weak. The lemon comes off as dish soap in quality and I don’t enjoy it.

wildbeercat (359) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 6, 2013
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle poured into a Sam Adams glass.

Aroma: Sour yeast, some citrus and spice.

Appearance: Hazy, milky yellow. No head.

Taste: Starts off with spiced oranges and tangerines, and ends yeasty and bready. Not bad. Pretty average.

Palate: Exceptionally fizzy and light. Lingers a little, but it fades quickly.

Overall: Pretty decent witbier. Better than some other ones out there, but not my favorite by far.

Gachupines (1252) - USA - APR 6, 2013
Hazy golden color with a decent white head. Aroma is a tiny bit of coriander with some orange peel. Flavor is a nice bit of spice, definite notes of coriander. A little orange peel in the finish. Nice and light, easily drinkable.
