COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

Smell is grassy, citrus hops, peaches? and a slight banana aroma. Poured a hazy golden yellow, looks kind of like a hefeweizen. Taste is that same peachiness from aroma followed up with some nice piney hops and a bitter finish. Feels light-medium bodied with a somewhat thin/creamy texture and pretty fizzy carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a giant white head & floaties. It has the aroma of pine, pineapple & citrusy hops. It has a nice fruit taste and a nice bitter hop aftertaste. Complex and tasty.

12 ounce bottle into Sam Adams pint glass. best by 10/2012. Pours hazy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, herbal, floral, wheat, grass, apricot, grapefruit, and earthy spiciness. Nice and well balanced aromas with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon, apricot, herbal, floral, wheat, earth, and herbal spiciness. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, citrus, floral, herbal, and earthy spiciness for a good bit. Great balance of hop flavors, and nice balance with the bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with slightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden as expected for 5.8%; with pretty much no warming noticed on the finish. Overall this is a great wheat IPA! Great hop flavor balance and smoothness; and very smooth to drink. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-yellow with a medium white head that dissipates with decent lacing. Aroma is light, with citrus, pine and a little fruit (but I cannot identify apricot). Flavor has much more hops presence than aroma, with citrus and pine dominating, and a slight fruity sweetness, leading to a medium bitter finish.

12oz bottle from a mix pack. Pours a hazy golden with a beautiful white head. Nice lacing throughout. Drinking this on a hot day and it is really hitting the spot. Sticky pine, flowery hops, hint of apricot. Tasty and refreshing.

bottle, from Triangle Wine in Morrisville. Good aroma, sweet . Citrusy, spicy, weird mix, grapefruit, apricot, pepper. Beautiful pour, hazy gloden orange color, good head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body smooth creamy mouthfeel, bitter sry finish. Huh, well, I like it, aroma really made me think of sniffing a bag of hop pellets, beautiful to look at, pour nice, good lacing. in the Sam Adams tulip glass of course. apricot got me more in flavor, though not enough to overpower hop bite. I dunno, maybe its just the heat, as I sit out on my porch here in NC at 85 or 90 degrees, but nice has enough bite for the ipa I was wanting with some fun other things to make it fun

Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - MAY 30, 2012
12oz bottle. Rating #288. Hazy dark yellow/gold with a big fluffy white head. Spicy hoppy aroma, peppery and it seems like there is wheat in there and reading above it seems their is, duh. Flavor is more wheat and spices, the hops seem to take a back seat to the other ingredients, but the hops are there. Not bad. (2392)

Pours a hazy orange Colorado with a nice white head. Aroma is apricots, wheat, and some citrus hops. The taste is fruity and light. Apricots are the main flavor followed by some lemon and wheat. There are hops to rounds things off but its not at all bitter and I personally wouldnt label it an Ipa but it is a good easy to drink beer.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral hop and apricot. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet hop and citrus with a nice crisp finish. Easy to drink a very impressive IPA from Sam Adams.
