COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

On tap at pub. Hazy yellowish with a thick, persistent creamy white head. Tastes like fruits, orange, coriander, has some acidity, and a touch of citrusy bitterness in the finish. Full bodied, average carbonation. Good white ale.

Pours a hazy amber with a thick white head. Smells of floral notes, pine. Tastes of hops, with an added sweetness, i guess from the apricots.

Bottle, appears cloudy light yellow with nice frothy white head retention. Herbal, grassy, clove, musty, lemon pith. Body is creamy, and medium-light in texture. Finish has some clove, wheat and suprising amount of slightly pithy, dank bitterness. Pretty interesting offering, I really get elements of the “Wit” towards the finish. A bit confused (is it a cloudy spicy IPA or a souped up wheat beer?), but overall pretty successful.

Bottled. Poured hazy straw golden with a dense, sticky white head. The aroma picked up fresh wheat, floral, and apricot notes over a pale and wheaty base.. very fruity with an interesting twist.. not usually my thing, but I enjoyed it. The flavor found pale malts and sweet apricots at the core.. fruit and piney bitterness surrounded.. tart wheat was fairly complementary.. finished with a lot of fruit, plus a little peppery alcohol. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. started out really well, but became a bit cloying in the end.

Pours a hazy amber, with a nice white head. Aroma of apricots, pine, and citrus notes. Big pine flavor, complemented with apricot and yeast. Loads of hop bitterness and lots of flavor. I like this one quite a bit, and way better than expected! Finishes crisp and bitter.

Subtle citrus and pine hop aroma. Hazy soft amber yellow color. Heavy film like head that leaves a nice lacing. Bitterness is offset by sweet apricots that provides a nice balance. Nicely done and enjoyable IPA.

Bottle. Very hazed orange tint. Grapefruit and apricot. Very surprising but delicious. Strong at first but mellows almost instantly. Well balanced.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 Pours a very hazy yellow-ish almost golden color. The head is absolutely enormous and tight for the most part the head leaves lots of spotty lacing on the glass.

The aroma is overwhelmingly sweet from the get go with fruit and grainy tones abound.

The beer is bitter and very very brightly fruity. When I was young and knew no better I was terribly inpassioned by Belgian Beers that were comparable in character to this one. Fruit forward, phenolic, & floral with a great bright citrus character

The beer is refreshing, hoppy, and enjoyable.

The aroma is heavy citrus, grainy, fruity. The appearance is a hazy yellow, white head. The flavor is mostly hop forward, citrus mainly, some light fruit. The finish is very citrus as well. The hops dominate here. medium in body. Good beer overall.

Pour into Red Solo Cup. Hey at least it wasn’t the bottle. Decent IPA, a little fruity, but plenty of pine and hoppy goodness. Could do much worse. This is one of the better Sammy’s.
