Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

12 oz bottle, pours hazy golden color with a white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Has a taste of a IPA but it is missing something.

Pours a hazy gold with a 3 finger, fluffy, off white head that has great retentino and leaves very nice lacing. Aroma is full of coriander, some citrus, lemon, floral hops, bready yeast and honey. Flavor is sweet malt, dusty grain, citrus hops, coriander, stone fruit, lemon, wheat, bready yeast, birch beer and a light note of what I can only describe as rosemary-like. Palate is light to medium bodied, oily and chalky on entry, has a medium, sharp carbonation and off dry, somewhat slick and chalky finish. There is some interesting stuff going on here, but I can’t really say that I like it all that well, not terrible, but not really what I look for in an IPA, though not bad for a White Ale.

12oz bottle, Brewer’s Choice Variety 12pk, Spring2012. Hazy yellow color, white head. Apricot aroma, along with loads of wheat. Sweet flavor, sharp harsh bitterness. Overly bitter wheat ale with apricot juice.

Pours a cloudy, amber color with a white head. Interesting aroma with lemon, citrus hops, wheat, and some apricots. Nicely blended with the apricots, lemon, and citrus hops. Some wheat comes out on the finish. An interesting brew.

Bottle. Murky gold pour with a tall, fluffy white head. Big citrus and pine notes in the aroma followed by a peppery spiciness. Taste is big, bitter hops, pine, grapefruit juice, and spices followed by a touch of sweet malt, light grains, and hints of apricots. Body is medium with a mild carbonation and a potent lingering bitterness. Finishes with mores grapefruit, pine notes, sweet malt, apricots, spices, and grains.

pours out of the bottle a hazy yellow with an orange hint to it, solid foamy head with some nice lacing on the glass. aroma off the glass is that of apricot, orange peel, some lemon zest and piney hops. for the most part the taste follows the aroma. i picked up on some astringent bitterness up front. creamy mouth feel with some wheat shining through on the finish. interesting beer, surprised me!

Bottle poured a cloudy peach with a lasting white head.. Aromas of wheat, yeast, apricot, coriander and citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of apricot, wheat, yeast, light coriander and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering apricot finish.

Bottle. Pours a thick, cloudy cheddar orange with a thick white head. Nose is lemony rose soaked in orange peel juice. Flavor is peachy lemon leaves and grapefruit rind. Leaves a lingering, slowly fading flavor on the tongue. Oily on the palate. This is a fantastic IPA. Very different; instead of an all-out hops assault, it’s more of a lemony puch-in-the-gut by a small child. Very clean and refreshing. Definite repeat.
