COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

An IPA diluted with sugary apricots and superfluous herbal notes. This ale has a milky mouthfeel and a tart aftertaste. Too many bells and whistles that overwhelm the natural complexity of the IPA style. Also, whitewater is a terrible name, unless you’re a ride at a theme park or a rural town in Wisconsin.

Pours a medium golden color. Lots of big floaties in there. About two fingers light beige head. Pretty long lived. Decent retention, nice lacing. So far so good, this looks like it will be fun.

I could smell the orange peel before I opened the bottle. Orange peel is very strong. Also smell some good pine, and apricots or peaches.

Taste is pretty good. A little different. Piney, citrusy, fruity but not too much. But I’m getting a lot of spicy hops. It’s good, and a little different. It works pretty well. Don’t really taste any wheat.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Spicy to the mouth. More bitter than 60 IBUs. Not something I would make a session beer, its more of a sipper. As easy drinking as you’ll get from an IPA.

Overall, it’s quite good. Bitter, hoppy, flavorful. It’s better than I expected. The lingering bitter spicy stuff is kind of growing on me now. Yes, I would recommend this. Yes, I would probably buy this again.

Typical decent commercial IPA, tasty and smooth. Golden, slightly hazy, with a large white head and good lacing. Citric hops aroma.. Notes of tropical fruit and lots of citric and bitter hops in its taste. Not bad.

Drank from bottle. Loads of apricots, peach, some grapefruit, citrus. Light watery to oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Pours a translucent light amber from a bottle. Big pine and nondescript citrus aroma. Flavor is a somewhat citric acid sour, with a huge dose of bitterness. Not picking up on the apricot but I wonder if they add a little fullness in the mouth. Good beer.

Pours a lightly hazy orange with white head. Has a citrus and pine aroma. A sweet citrus hop, pine, and grain taste. A heavily carbonated beer that has a lingering bitter hop and sweet citrus aftertaste.

12 oz pour from bottle into Spiegelau IPA glass. Pours dull find, moderate soapy white head. Body is medium, a little sticky. Nose is piney, resin. Taste is bitter, not too complex, resin. Not exactly what I think of when I consider white IPAs.

Pours a clear yellow color with a nice small white head. Nose of orange peel, citrus, some spricot also. Light body. Sweet taste with a small bitter finish.
