This beer has a beautiful red color. Strong taste with a good aftertaste that lingers. Really coats your mouth. firemedic713 (169) - Palm Bay, Florida, USA - JAN 2, 2004
It had a nice, deep reddish brown color with a white headand decent lacing. Smelled of spice. The winter spices were tasted. Great pour good taste. Aroma has some wheat and yeast. Taste is mostly sweet and malty. Good Seasonal. invalid (302) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 1, 2004
It poured beautiful in my pint glass. It had a nice, deep color with a white head. Smelled of spice. Tasted flat. The winter spices were all I tasted. I'm gonna pour another homebrew. MrBeer (276) - Erie, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2003
Well this is my 100th beer. Dark reddish color and has a nice thick taste to it. WastedYouthBrew (143) - Phila (Home of Geno's Steaks), Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2003
You can taste where the extra malt went on this one. Great taste, great pour, love the Sam Adams, and are always a recommendation!

Draught. Reddish brown color. Aroma has some wheat and yeast. Taste is mostly sweet and malty, picked up on a little of that spice, not quite a traditional weizenbock but probably the best of the Sam line. warrior (213) - Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2003
Just had this draft tonight. The beer was a little flat so it did distract from the overall flavor. Sweet malty aroma, a dark copper colored beer. The flavor was mostly sweet malt but did not have much to balance out the malt. I did not know it was classified as a Weizen Bock and did not detect the usual Weiss yeast flavors that you get from a Weizen Bock. Not bad but could be better. kosh (20) - Georgia, USA - DEC 29, 2003
very dark amber color with a good head. very malty tasting and just the right amount of hops. spiced slightly but not overdone. i think this is adams best beer to date and wish they would make it year-round! not easy to find in my area but worth the hunt. this is a very good beer. jbak (111) - Torrington, Connecticut, USA - DEC 29, 2003
Pours a crystal clear deep red color, with a tan head that lasts quite a while with good lacing. Aroma is a barely noticable sweet malty slightly nutty flavor. The taste is quite similar, very brief, not bad but I can barely taste it before it's gone. Pike (6) - DL, Minnesota, USA - DEC 29, 2003 does not count
If this beer can't put you in the Christmas spirit, nothing can. It pours a nice nutty amber color with a rich, lasting head, and gives your nose a tangy, malty, somewhat spicy kick. Then it does the same thing to your taste buds with a bit more verve! The aftertaste is spicy-sweet with a tasteful touch of hop-dry that lasts just long enough to leave you wanting more! If you like beer (if you don't and you're on this website...just why are you here anyway!?) this should become a regular winter holiday treat!
