Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Aroma is malty with toffee and sweet bread. Taste is really sweet but with some stingy light spice. A sensation of dark plums? Drinkable and pretty nice overall.

12 oz bottle. Pours a nice off white/cream head. Nice hazy Amber color with descent carbonation. The aroma is not very appealing, the beer is light and lager like but has an after taste that is not very appealing but grows on you. The ginger stands out in the finish. The orange peel seems absent while the cinnamon is very faint.

Poured from a 12oz winter classic variety pack, thanks Garrett. Appearance is amber and decent head, dissipates quickly. Aroma is weak but light malts and ginger. Taste is lightly sweet and some notes of orange and cinnamon. Palate is medium carbonation. Overall decent for the style, good for a variety pack.

Bottle. Light, hoppy and drinkable. Some strange vegtable notes. OK but not that interesting.

This is a light amber lager with some spice in taste and palate. Some hops are present but doesnt leave a lasting impression.

Dark, crisp, and dry. Nice little spice at the end. Was suprisingly mild and easy drinking. Great changeup to have in the lineup. Hope sam adams other selections in the winter sampler are just as good.

On bottle from Systembolaget Strmstad. Amber color, good foam. Medium/low aroma intensity; malty, dried fruits, christmas spices- some fruitiness. Medium body & complexity. A little on the sweet side. Pretty good beer

I had it on tap. It pours a reddish amber color with very little head and lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel and spice. The taste is caramel, spice, and a little orange peel. Its smooth with soft carbonation. Its pretty sessionable.
