caramel, citrus, ginger, golden, red, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, slightly spicy medium body, average carbonation, clean finish frankenkitty (2013) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - FEB 13, 2016
Dark copper body below a foamy ecru head which holds. Orange rind fore in aroma, a little soapy, or maybe like a holiday candle as the ginger comes out. Flavor is a jolly jumble of cinnamon and ginger with no real distinctiveness as a "beer" outside of a slight caramel sweetness which peeks out from time to time from under a heavy blanket of ho-ho-holiday spices. The lingering memory on the palate is sour, dry and spicy... take a dollop of sour cream, add a squeeze of lemon and maybe a full tablespoon of ground cinnamon for the effect. This is a definite "one and done" and it’s too bad that they put two of them in my gift pack. ~~~~ From a Sam Adams 12 Pk. of "Winter Classics", received as a gift. You can feel the spices! A little too much perhaps but this is that kind of beer, happy holidays

Sam Adams lager with some spices that really don’t make it better. Pour is a deeper reddish amber than the lager with a soft foam head. The aroma is soft hops with a hint of cinnamon and citrus. The initial taste is light hops with citrus and a hint of ginger. As it sits in the mouth the citrus and ginger really come out and leaves even more of a stale beer and pumpkin pie aftertaste. commonshawn (1383) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 15, 2016
12oz bottle with commonmac in goblet. Light amber with medium white head. Spicy floral nose with malt. Taste has orange peel bitterness and strong bitter spice. Tastes like a spiced version of the Boston lager. Not bad.

12oz bottle from holiday pack from Food Lion in Wilson. Dark orange/reddish hue with almost fully diminishing light khaki head. No lacing. Aromas of citrus hop and dark malt. Dark malt and light spice taste up front with more of an orange citrus finish. Slick mouth feel. ozzy70 (1430) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 7, 2016
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark copper/ruby. Thin tan head. Aroma was roasted malts and light spices. Taste is malty, peppery and sweet. Hopmaestro (1910) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2015
Aroma is malty with toffee and sweet bread. Taste is really sweet but with some stingy light spice. A sensation of dark plums? Drinkable and pretty nice overall. tysonf7 (28) - - DEC 27, 2015
12 oz bottle. Pours a nice off white/cream head. Nice hazy Amber color with descent carbonation. The aroma is not very appealing, the beer is light and lager like but has an after taste that is not very appealing but grows on you. The ginger stands out in the finish. The orange peel seems absent while the cinnamon is very faint. BierMeHoos (650) - Maryland, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Poured from a 12oz winter classic variety pack, thanks Garrett. Appearance is amber and decent head, dissipates quickly. Aroma is weak but light malts and ginger. Taste is lightly sweet and some notes of orange and cinnamon. Palate is medium carbonation. Overall decent for the style, good for a variety pack.
