3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep, almost brown, amber with a small tan head, modest lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, slight floral notes, and spice. Medium to heavy in sweetness, moderately bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation, slightly oily in texture finishing with lingering bitterness. Overall, pleasant in flavor and feel; a satisfying brew.
Had with Mark and Sarah on an improvised beer night. Look: almost opaque with a tan head.
Look: clear copper without much head. I like the Christmas tree label.
Nose: malty/lager smell with slight hops
Taste: follows the smell + some cinnamon/warm spices
Palate: medium/ mouthfeel and goes down easy
Overall: Good flavor but not as assertive as it could be. Definitely not my favorite from Sam Adams. Ktwse (5667) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2017
Pours clear amber with low off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread and citrus. Taste is sweet, toffee and caramel through to the finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation. laand78 (138) - Tibro, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2017

Bottle (5,6%). Amber with medium head. Aroma is malty with some sweetness. Taste is great with orange, malt and slight notes of chocolate sweetness. Nice finish. Pleasant beer! BarelyCynical (26) - - DEC 9, 2017
Basic winter lager. Smooth but unoriginal lager provides a basic but unoffensive brew.

33 cl bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Caramel colour and aroma. Sweet, slightly metallic flavour. Not overly complex. thejackpacker (728) - East Sussex, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2017
Bottle from systembolaget, Östersund. Not so sure about this one and leads off the Nils Oscar other winter lager hanging about. It has some spices added (cinnamon etc) which sure gives it a hint of festivity but it feels disjointed. Overall a bit soapy. Rex_Remes (283) - Bonyhad, HUNGARY - DEC 4, 2017
(12oz bottle from winter mix pack) AROMA: light malt nose, biscuit, some spice APPEARANCE: nice reddish amber color, clear, touch off-white oily foam TASTE: bran, slight roasted grain, dried fruit, ginger, touch of other spices and fall/leaves PALATE: crisp, a tad biting upfront, medium-light body, a little earthiness OVERALL: a slightly lighter version of their boston lager with a bit of fall spiciness. Good looking beer, not too strong or flavorful .... so an easy drink with a bit of body and robustness. Goddrinksbeer () - Northport, Alabama, USA - DEC 4, 2017
I generally stay away from mass production beers, but look forward to this affordable, consistent holiday release from Sam Adams. The 12 oz. Bottle pours brown-gold with fragrant and respectful head that hangs around through first few swallows. Typical holiday nose with toasty caramel-clove overtones and a rather neutral palate. Finish has warm holiday notes that you expect but at a well balanced 5.6 ABV it is very drinkable on winter nights. One of the few dark beers my girlfriend likes. BeerBenji (22) - - DEC 2, 2017
I was not a huge fan of this, I could see why it's a winter ale, like many Samuel Adams brews it has a heavy body and makes it automatically a swig beer.
