3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In a bottle, thanks drew...Amber with a malty aroma... smooth with hints of molasses!!! Good beer
From Dec 2005
Poured from bottle(rom temp) a medium gold with a fairly large head that dissipated slowly...good lacing.
The smell is of sweet spices and malt though I had to work to sense them.
The taste is quite nice. I taste roasted malt with a dash of spice, mainly the cinnamon mentioned on the label;^) And...it has a nice lingering aftertaste of said spices with just a bit of bitterness.
Overall, this is a good example of the style and I recommend it.
PS: The Sam Adams holiday pack in general is pleasing; only the Cranberry "Lambic" disappointed me.

May 2015. I've had this beer many many times, and used to like it. Now, not so much. I don't care for the spices so much. But it's a decent brew

From old tasting notes. Reddish brown color with a huge beige head. Delicious spicy nutmeg aroma. Zesty toasted malt flavor with hints of cocoa and cinnamon. Good hop flavor. Dry finish and aftertaste. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 2, 2017
Bottle - Spices and light orange notes. Clear copper with a decent beige head. Spicy, bready and a long finish. ginotarugo (70) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 13, 2017
Got this on sale. Not overly bitter or spicy. Nice aroma but OK taste. May drink again only if I don’t have a better option.

Trocken malzig gewürziger Antrunk. Weiche Herbe, süßlich, minimal Zimt. Etwas dumpf zum Ende. 8/9/8/9/9/9 Kauge (2064) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 25, 2017
Tap sample at beerbistro. Coppery orange, translucent, smallish beige head. Nose of rather subdued malts and spiciness, not what I was expecting. Tastes more Christmasy but the watery mouthfeel ruins my overall impression. Cinnamon and cuminseed (which isn’t there...) flavour perhaps most dominant, a tiny hint of ginger. I wouldnt consider this a very good beer, nor a Bock, as it was labelled in the menu. Sub-par yet in itself not disastrous nor totally undrinkable... Wouldn’t want a whole bottle though! Clear dark caramel colour, light tan head. Spicy aroma, full of cinnamon, ginger, orange, green herbs and hops. Mild sweet taste, hints of caramel, ginger, hops and yeast. Light body, bitter aftertaste, fizzy carbonation. Quite good and refreshing. Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 26, 2017
A: Dark caramel that’s near to red. Creme color head.
N: Toffee, peppercorn, fall leaves, earth, substantial grapefruit, but not in a pleasant way, cracker, some green apple, cherry, and bark.
T: Sweet, bitter, and slightly lactic.
M: Medium light body, no alcohol, crisp carbonation.
O: It’s OK. Nothing to write home about and certainly not in the same zip code as Jubel.
