COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Dark golden color with frothy white head. Mild caramel flavor with hints of toffee. Nice finish to the beer. A decent beer overall but feels more like an autumn beer than something fit for winter. Could have used a little more body.

Dark amber pour with thin lasting cap of beige. Aromas are pleasantly malty bread, caramel, and very light winter spices. All of the smells are amplified in the taste - very full-bodied for such low abv. Tasty, malty, but never overly sweet, if finishes clean and neat. One of Sams best recipes.

Darker color, small-medium head, seasonal spices were noticeable and good, some sweetness and then a bit of bitterness. Actually good, not bad but not great. I normally dont order any of the standard macro-brand beers at our local restaurants, but they are now serving Winter Lager as their high-end beer on tap and I have ordered it a few times. Its decent.

Malty, bready, and a slight sweetness. A strong malt presence is prominent there as you first smell it. A solid offering for the season. Not great but a good, to very good, offering from Sam Adams.

From a bottle. Not bad at all, a decent earthy spice and crisp lager finish, would drink again.

On draft at a steakhouse in Seminole. Dark ruby, clear with a small whitish head. Cinnamon, raisin, spiced tea and horehound in the aroma. Nice sweet taste, at least at first, after which is starts to become a bit cloying. More bitterness in the finish. Citrus and mulled spice in the aftertaste. OK... not quite convinced.
