COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros tiny brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smiths small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic apricot fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

tfredvik (1833) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 28, 2016
Cloudy yellow to orange body with an off-white head that laces the glass well. Absurdly fruity, sweet and strong aroma of sweet apricot jam and traces of apricot kernels. Also some citrus, and hints of a milk/fruit juice mix that was introduced in Norwegian grocery stores some years ago (and that of course flopped magnificently). Strong flavour of massive sweet apricot jam, with a welcome dash of refreshing citrus in the back, along with pale malts. Moderate to heavy sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Also some very vague hints of some sourness or acidity? Full body, syrupy texture, moderate carbonation. A nice one, if you like apricots.
[35.5 cl bottle, enjoyed 1 year before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo]

Poured from a bottle. Straw yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet apricots. Light syrupy texture. Starts out sweet but has a tangy bite at the finish. Fairly refreshing. Not bad but not great. Similar to Magic Hat #9 but a little more harsh due to the odd finish.

Hazy yellow color. Lively carbonation. Very clear apricot aroma, with a touch of caramel and some fruity yeast notes. Very sweet, but with enough acidity to balance it out perfectly. Little to know hop flavor. A bit of malt in the finish. Round mouthfeel from the wheat, but ulimately quite light. Has a rich round apricot flavor. If you like apricots, then this is good. Lack a bit of complexity, but it forgivable since it so tasty.

Bottle to pint glass Consummation: Apricot syrup with a kick. Adjunct: Full on apricot aroma, a bit of an overripe sickly odor, somewhat artificial aftertaste, perhaps apple as well, pretty chalky.

Kauge (1708) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 23, 2016
Ive now had this twice at August in Tallinn - still not convinced beer and apricot should go together. A highly carbonated lemonade this is. Nothing wrong with it per se, but I just cant force myself to enjoy this sort of stuff on any occasion. Also, if consumed as lemonade, Id prefer something like this to contain ~2% less alcohol...

*Old rating. Nice fruity apricot nose. The beer is fruity and fresh. Sweetish apricot jam, easy to drink. A bit sweetish but round, fruity and nice! Sessionable with not too much depth.
