COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros’ tiny brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic apricot fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

I’ve now had this twice at August in Tallinn - still not convinced beer and apricot should go together. A highly carbonated lemonade this is. Nothing wrong with it per se, but I just can’t force myself to enjoy this sort of stuff on any occasion. Also, if consumed as lemonade, I’d prefer something like this to contain ~2% less alcohol...

11.03.2016, 0,35l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head, hazy. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, apricot jam, grain, fruit stones, soda powder, sour apricot winegum. Taste is slightly sour-ish sweet fruity, apricot jam, hay, weeds, fruit stones, soda powder, grain, sour winegum. Little bitterness, slightly watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Poured from a bottle. Straw yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet apricots. Light syrupy texture. Starts out sweet but has a tangy bite at the finish. Fairly refreshing. Not bad but not great. Similar to Magic Hat #9 but a little more harsh due to the odd finish.

Bottle to pint glass Consummation: Apricot syrup with a kick. Adjunct: Full on apricot aroma, a bit of an overripe sickly odor, somewhat artificial aftertaste, perhaps apple as well, pretty chalky.

Pours a slightly hazy light amber/yellow from a bottle. This is a surprisingly well-balanced fruit beer. Lots of up front apricot aroma and flavor, but also a nice malt backbone to let you know this really is beer. Also, the apricot tastes more rounded, like real fruit or juice was used as opposed to extract or "natural" flavor. Very good beer.

Poured from bottle, pours a clear bubbly gold with a thin white head, aroma has a nice amount of apricot and a hint of funk mixed in too, flavor has a sweet fruity front end with a light mouthfeel, light drinking and enjoyable.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Slightly hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is fruity, slightly fermented, but you can definitely tell it’s apricot. It’s sweet but not cloying, even a bit tart at first but mostly it’s like an apricot soda made from fruit syrup. Body is smooth but has also good carbonation. Overall it’s an enjoyable fruit beer.

I just don’t like it. One thing about it, it makes me want to eat an apricot.
