Man I just don't quite get the British distinction for an India Pale Ale. I understand that it's milder than the American version. But the original idea being that it was going to be higher hopped and alcohol to make the trip to India. I mean alcohol here is only 5% so I don't see how that's sufficient back in the days without Refrigeration to do that. I've had some of their esb's that seem to be a little hoppier than this. It's good drinking beer but I just don't get the IPA part of it.

50cl Bottle @ Slainte, Salamanca, Spain. Golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is hops, citrus, malt, sweet. Taste follows the aroma. Mesium body, average carbonation.

550 mo bottle. Pine and citrus smells. Pours orange with a rocky white head. Great sour tastes. Short astringent finish. Mild carbonation. Very good.

Tap at Earl of Lonsdale, Portobello road. Clear golden/copper body, small white head. Fruity notes in the aroma. Creamy texture with bitter, fruity taste and sweet notes of honey and fig. Overall OK!

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2017 A nice change from the very pale, very (in some cases overly) hoppy IPAs I've had recently. Lovely balance of malt and hops, the finish goes on for ages. Cracking brew!

Bottle @home. Pours golden, smallish white head. Nose is malty, slight fruit and floral, quite earthy. Taste is caramel, sweet but with a bitter finish.

Bosskie (928) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 3, 2017
Dark reddish brown, transparent, with a frothy white head and lots of gentle bubbles. Smell is warm and crisp, leather, raw nuts, caramel, raisins, strawberries. Taste is smooth and refreshing, nice elegant bitterness. Delicious and easy.

jsmerig (1667) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 2, 2017
Pours a hazy reddish gold aroma is malty with some fruit notes. It's what I imagine the original India pale ales to be. Great English malt base with a flavorful hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice bitter - floral hops in aroma, some bitterness in taste. It smells like classic English ale and feels like it. Nice
