UPDATED: APR 7, 2016 Pours rich copper color into a dimpled mug with a light tan 1" head, decent retention. Caramel and malty smell with some nuttiness. Caramel and malts are tasted first with a nutty dry finish. Medium body with a slight bitterness. Lively amount of carbonation. Overall, great brown ale that i will continue to buy.
Brun med fint skum. Herlig blanding av nøtter og flytende karamellsaus i duft og smak. Smooth, litt tykk munnfølels. wgd3 (5) - Pittsford, New York, USA - JAN 8, 2018 does not count

Undated imperial pint > pint glass
A: Clear mahogany or tea color with a short tan head that falls to a stubborn film.
S: Sweet chocolate, a little stone fruit or fig, dark bread and faint alcohol.
T: Unsweetened Chocolate and bitter hops blend nicely with bitterness lingering. A hint of tart cherry and hazelnut.
M: Light and crisply carbonated. Slight resin on an otherwise fairly dry finish.
O: Haven't had this in years and it's nice to revisit. Old standby still recommended. vinivini (3148) - Gomel, BELARUS - SEP 15, 2017
Bottle. Clear chestnut brown. Moderate off-white head. The nose is caramel, toffee, minor nuts, cocoa. Light body. Fairly dry tasting. Really nutty here. Rich toffee and caramel. Flavourful. Lightly hoppy ending. Floral. It's OK because of the entire dryness. A very pleasant brew. Benters (144) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 15, 2017
Pours a clear, dark amber/mahogany colour with average carbonation. Aroma is earthy, lightly roasted malts, slight nuttiness and some caramel. Taste is sweet, nuttiness shines through along with some caramel and fruitiness. Well balanced with slight hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied, very enjoyable beer. Paired really well with Thai Red Chicken Curry - robust enough flavours to stand up to the dish; carbonation and hop bitterness help to cut through the spice and cleanse the palate whilst malty sweetness blends together with sweetness and spices in the dish to make a great match! 12oz bottle at home. Clear medium brown with a frothy off-white head. Caramel, nuts, cocoa, wood, dark fruit, dark bready malt. Medium-light body. Lingering nutty, mildly malty finish. Don't drink this too cold.
