Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in stone Yorkshire squares to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51F (11C).

Into a pint glass. Amber to orange color with a finger and half of head. Great lacing and hold. Lots of aroma: pear and apple mostly. Quite malty, minimum bitterness at first, builds towards the end. Lemon. Soft texture. Medium body, low carbonation. Nice pale ale to enjoy the malt side of the ale without having to fight through the bitterness of American Pale Ales.

Bottle. Dark Amber in colour. Malts (buttery, nutty, caramel malt) dominate. With hops (dry, dusty, earthy hops). Smooth and sweetish. Nice malt/hops balance. Dry malty finish. Very drinkable. (2008)

Pours light brownish and translucent with a thick, beige foam that fades. Caramel / fruity malt in the nose with a little earthiness. The malt dominates the flavor, with a little floral hops to provide an edge. Medium body, light fizz. Very well-balanced and drinkable. Inspector Morses favorite.

355cl. BBE 3/17 Pours amber/orange clear, with thin head. Aroma of faro sugars, sweeter side of malt and a gentle whiff of hops. Aroma is thin due to BBE. Malty, gently bitter, sweet and feels like an old ale, rather than ESB. Mild carbonation, smooth, medium bodied brew. Thx to K, for positive surprise.

Pours a darker caramel color than expected. Frothy head. Roasted, caramel, nutty and toasty nose. Dont even think of this as a Pale Ale like youd get in the states. Round soft palate, pleasingly drinkable but a rather short experience as it fades quickly. Has a mild bitterness to the finish.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of slightly toasted malt. Hazy amber brown color, creamy smooth beige head that sticks at 1/2", bands of lace. Taste is toasted caramel malt that adds yeast and then, light bittering in a long finish. Crisp, malt forward, and also light and easy drinking.

Pours copper colour with a thin off white head. Malty aroma. Taste is bready malt with hints of caramel, honey, corn, pear, dry white wine and floral hops. The finish has a crispness reminiscent of lagers. Carbonation is high for English ales, body is light to moderate. This is a very atypical English ale. Its maltier, crisper, with a more noble hop character and the corn flavour is quite perceptible. All in all Im not a fan.

Bottle. A- Subtle caramel, malty. A- Dark amber color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Malty, subtle burnt caramel, mild bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- This was maybe the worst of any of the Sam Smith beers Ive had. Basically a malt bomb and not very tasty.
