Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51°F (11°C).

Carbonazione medio bassa. Piacevole.

(355 ml bottle) Clear copper-red beer, with fine carbonation, and a dense off-white head. The aroma is reminiscent of any British beer garden on a summer’s day: hefty crystal malt and yeast, with a lingering scent of East Kent Goldings. Overall, this beer is more aromatic on the nose than on the palate: fresh biscuity malt, mineral water, spiced apple, elderflower and blackcurrant, with hints of orange and grapefruit. The finish is dry, bringing out dank oak, herbs and caramel. Fairly light-bodied, but smooth drinking. It’s not delicious, but pleasant.

0.355 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before December 2017. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, grassy-spicy, slightly floral and a bit fruity aroma of caramel, elderberry and some orange blossom. Slightly sweetish, quite dry, grassy-spicy, floral and a little fruity taste of caramel, orange blossom, elderberry, rose hips and hints of spruce, followed by a short, medium bitter, very dry and quite grassy-spicy finish. Almost medium-bodied, a bit astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle. Dark Amber in colour. Malts (buttery, nutty, caramel malt) dominate. With hops (dry, dusty, earthy hops). Smooth and sweetish. Nice malt/hops balance. Dry malty finish. Very drinkable. (2008)

PanMarek (423) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2017
Pours light brownish and translucent with a thick, beige foam that fades. Caramel / fruity malt in the nose with a little earthiness. The malt dominates the flavor, with a little floral hops to provide an edge. Medium body, light fizz. Very well-balanced and drinkable. Inspector Morse’s favorite.

355cl. BBE 3/17 Pours amber/orange clear, with thin head. Aroma of faro sugars, sweeter side of malt and a gentle whiff of hops. Aroma is thin due to BBE. Malty, gently bitter, sweet and feels like an old ale, rather than ESB. Mild carbonation, smooth, medium bodied brew. Thx to K, for positive surprise.
