Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros’ tiny brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic apricot fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

355ml bottle. Rather pale yellow colour. Medium white head. Sweetness and apricots in the aroma. Some sour notes too. Slightly sour apricoty beginning. Fruity in the middle. Apricots and slightly sour notes in the end. The palate is sweet. Rather light bodied, medium carbonated, drinkable fruit beer. Nothing special. The sweetness was too intensive.

0.355 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Appearance is cloudy and yellow. Taste has obviously apricot. This is somewhat dry but still a bit too sweet for me. I would like some more wild yeast or acidic micro-organisms. Leave the cane sugar out. please.

Bottle from Drinks of the World Winterthur. Pours hazy orange with fast depleting head. Smells of apricot with hints of citrus and banana. Taste starts wonderfully refreshing, with hints of citrus and sweetness. Body is full of apricot and just a bit of bitterness. Finish is sweet and a bit sour. Great Beer for the summer, it’s really refreshing and tastes great. Will try the whole organic fruit beer range when I get the chance!

drpimento (3627) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 2, 2016
Very good. Aroma’s fresh, ripe apricots, yeast, and a hint of malt. Flavor’s similar to nose, mostly sweet offset with a bit of tart and just right carbonation. Slightly chewy. Excellent finish. Goes great with an aged cheddar.

550ml bottle. Sweet apricot aroma. Cloudy dark orange in colour with a small creamy head. Moderate carbonation. Mild apricot flavour with a touch of sourness. Medium body. Sweet finish.

Surprisingly nice lacing. Has a thick frothy white head which is very sweet and fruity. Golden translucent in colour. Aroma of apricot, fruit preserves, grain. Taste is again apricot, particularly dried apricots actually, honey sweetness and bit of sour without feeling acidic. Wheat is present as well. Slightly bitter on the finish. High carbonation, average bodied. Overall one of the better fruit beers I’ve tried and a recommended example of the style.

355ml gorgeous bottle bbNOV17, BierH. Bref: would make a great dessert contrast of funky-sweet natural apricot flavours to Cantillon’s FouFoune. - So this is only bottled at Samuel Smith, brewed and blended on the basis of some sort of organic wheat ale by Melbourn Bros? Ingr?: 4% apricot concentrate and extract...somehow less than the 15-20% fruit in fruit lambiek, yet just as aromatic. Nose: reminds me of "confituurke" aka apricot jam-slathered Belgian pastry...sweet apricot jam, candi sugar, natural apricot peel and stones included. Drinks astoundingly uncloying, if fruity-sweet. Apricot yoghurt and quark dessert comes to mind on account of the wheat porridge underneath. - Will revisited teamed up with FouFoune!
