Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros’ tiny brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic apricot fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Slightly hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is fruity, slightly fermented, but you can definitely tell it’s apricot. It’s sweet but not cloying, even a bit tart at first but mostly it’s like an apricot soda made from fruit syrup. Body is smooth but has also good carbonation. Overall it’s an enjoyable fruit beer.

I just don’t like it. One thing about it, it makes me want to eat an apricot.

Bottle at home, from Fakta Harrislee. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma light to medium fruity, apricot. Flavor medium sweet apricot, not cloying. Medium body.

(Bottle) Clear pale gold with slight white head. Lovely intense apricot aroma with hints of leather and funk. Full bodied, rather like a thin fruit juice, with pleasant gentle carbonation. Lovely taste but more like an alcoholic fruit juice than a beer. It's almost all fresh apricot with a slightly drier finish than fruit juice. Nice but is it really a beer? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, Aug 15, courtesy of Mike S. Can’t actually recall having an apricot beer before. This is lovely. Vibrant apricot taste, it’s almost like an apricot juice drink than a beer. But as I love fruit, and smoothies, I can’t help falling in love with this. Delish.

355ml bottle (Pudel, Tallinn)

Scary sharp aroma, i guess some apricot. And wensleydale cheese - ugh! Looks good, bright gold, but huge tight peristent spongy head. Slightly sharp, slightly sweet and sticky palate. Simple sweet malty body, and slightly fake fruit juice apricot. Remarkably drinkable considering the horror in the aroma. Slips down easily. Don’t like it, but can fight my way down.

To me this tasted like an Apricot shandy. There is a ton of quite delicious apricot juice making this more of a beer cocktail. Don’t get me wrong, the apricots are delicious but it does impart a very sweet flavor. Malt is quit weak and there is some bitterness that I didn’t think flattered the beer much. There is no tartness.

355ml bottle. Clear golden color. Medium size, bubbly head, stays. Sweet, strong apricot, fudge, jelly in aroma. Sweet, dried apricots, slightly acidic, some lemon perhaps in taste. Long lasting apricot in aftertaste. Apricot everywhere.
