From the first waff off this Sammie you know it’s going to be a special beer. The deep chocolate chip cookie aroma rolls off the towering pock-marked mountain of tan head. On the tongue it’s extremely creamy and mouthfilling with sweet chocolate flavor. It stops just short of cloying, but is still sweet even for the style. It’s dark brown in the glass, and leaves lacy rings with each sip. Hints of vanilla coffee creamer creep in at the finish. A dessert beer without a doubt. bigericsports (96) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUN 19, 2017
Bomber poured into a pint glass, pours dark brown, almost black with a beige foamy head, nice lacing. Sweet chocolate aroma with a tinge of vanilla. Taste is sweet malty with dried fruity notes, chocolate, vanilla and cocoa. It’s a nice stout, would recommend to friends! Hardened (128) - POLAND - JUN 11, 2017
W zapachu kakao i czekolada, to samo w smaku. Jednorodne, bez rozczarowania, lecz jednocześnie nie skłaniające do powtórki. Tyle. masiliauskas (21) - Kaunas, LITHUANIA - MAY 28, 2017
AROMA: Monin’s chocolate syrup and instant coffee (with creamer!). If you find ’luxurious chocolate’ here and gave this a 10, drop me a message so I can fistfight you. ***** APPEARANCE: a feisty, lacey, Coke-on-coke kind of a foam. The colour is pretty good, the foam is pretty odd, the overall is an average mark. ***** TASTE: too sweet and borderline irritating. The chocolate falls flat, coffee saves the day. The meh’est of mehs ever. How is this a 96? ***** PALATE: carbonization too high for my liking, the whole thing is just too watery. I’d expected a soft bed of cosy warm chocolatey notes and instead got something right out of a drink fountain. ***** OVERALL: I honestly feel either the first couple guys were just trolling with the higher scores and the lot of you just felt too afraid not to follow suit or this batch is just very unlucky. The traits of a refreshing helles mixed into a stout do not make for a good combination, at least for me, that is. Hey, it’s all opinion! As I said before, I’m open to fistfights. The aroma is chocolate and coffee. Pours dark brown with light beige head mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The taste is sweet and a touch bitter. The body is medium/light, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Very good!

Kokiksen väristä, sormen paksunen vaahto. Tuoksussa vaniljaa, kaakaota. Maku maitosuklaamainen, kevyt kahvi, vähän makea. rikstar (2607) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2017

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2017 Aromat kakao, czekolada bardzo wyrazny, czuc go przy kazdym lyku. Na poczatku ladna czapa piany, z czasem opada ale pieknie zdobi szklo. W smaku mleczna czekolada, lekka slodycz, w tle delikatna kawa i subtelna goryczka. Fullpintofbeer (439) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - MAY 13, 2017
From bottle. Huge, beige head, very dark brown colour, fair lacing. Aroma: lots of chocolate, cookies, coffee, bit of burnt tyre. Lightly sweet with dry/bitter aftertaste. Full body, long finish, lively. Very nice aroma, rest is ok, palate could have been more complex. brewberg (16) - Drammen, NORWAY - MAY 11, 2017
Nice soft chocolatey aroma and also subtle notes of the same cider-ish freshness that you can find in their porter. In the beginning the aromas from the chocolate was really nice, but over time it develops into seeming artificial.
Beautiful dark brown/black with a perfect amount of nicely tan colored foam.
Balanced sweetness and bitterness but the sweetness is more prominent, without the acidity from the co2 it would probably have been too sweet.
In my opinion something doesn’t add up in the mouth. The ale feels as lively and sparkling as pale lagers with a nice sting to the tongue, but this does not match the expectations I get from the smells and color which tells me to expect a warm and heavy ale.
For me this ale tastes like like someone added chocolate syrup and (too much) sugar into a a light and tasty stout, and now I’m wishing I could drink the ale without the additives.
