5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
A: Pours black into the tulip with 1-finger's worth of medium brown head. Lace is medium to stiff. Stays on the top of the glass, but slowly withdraws.
S: Can I "capitalize" CHOCOLATE? Actually, it's nose is cocoa-smelling with a hint of coconut.
T: Taste is tremendous. I can describe the taste as very meaningful chocolate taste without being overly sweet. I've tasted some chocolate stouts that really make your brain think that you're drinking a Snickers. This one you can taste the malt and just a bit of the hops, along with the CHOCOLATE. Truly a dessert beer.
M: Feel is much lighter than the other chocolate stouts I've tried. It's a pleasure to drink. It doesn't overwhelm like it's competitors.
O: Overall, this is an excellent beer, really decent when the snow is flying and you're all dressed up in flannel and bunny slippers.

Intensive aroma of sweet, belgium chocolate. In taste sweet with a lot of cocoa, roastiness dominated by chcocalate flavours. Low bitterness, but noticeable. Dark brown colour. Thick, frothy, beige head. I have naver drink a beer with such delicious chocolate flavours. beern (202) - Alabama, USA - NOV 17, 2017
Pours black and opaque with a nice 3-finger frothy tan head with decent to good retention and an aroma of chocolate and malt. Tastes of sweet cocoa, ie. hot chocolate mix. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation. The finish is pure, raw cocoa with mild bitterness for balance. The organic cane sugar is clearly present. There is a little brewed coffee. First Sam Smith I have ever had and will judge all others by this masterpiece, no way I can drink more than 2, very sweet and chocolaty. Mattseward (25) - - NOV 15, 2017

18.7floz bottle (550ml), no date, $4 paid, pint glass. My first Samuel Smith beer in several years. These used to be mainstays of some of the best beers to get in stores. They were also often suspect to aging on store shelves too. Smells like chocolate milk (or hot cocoa if you will), and appears dark brown with a tan head retains its character throughout. Chalky and sweet sums this stout up. Its candy chocolate malt all the way, a dessert beer that seems like it could pair well with pie for an over the top indulgence experience.

550ml bottle. Pours almost black with a thick creamy beige head, lasts for the duration of the beer, looks perfect to me. Aroma is heavy on the cocoa, very much like a hot chocolate. Taste is almost overwhelming with sweet milk chocolate, cocoa power, caramel, hint of roast. Medium body, soft carbonation, silky creamy mouthfeel. The sweetness does get a little cloying the more you drink. kenpal (20) - - NOV 3, 2017
Mørke rød til mørkebrun med lite lyst skum.
Lukter friskt vanilje.
Smaker svak kaffe med en ettersmak av vanilje og lys sjokolade, kanskje litt for mye kullsyre.

Great tasting beer. It is smooth and has a great after taste. It is a little sweet but not unbearable. Great to sip on and relax.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2017 Bottle. Milk choclate in aroma. Taste. Grain coffee, milk choclate. Sweet with hint of sourness. Smooth. b79turner (261) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - OCT 30, 2017
Bottle poured into a tulip glass, thin dark brown/black pour with a light thin head that quickly disappears. Nose is bitter chocolate and malt. Taste is very similar with a little bit of chocolate milk. This is not my favorite but still well done
