A full-bodied lager with lots of malt and hop character. A touch hoppier than many lagers yet perfectly balanced with lots of fruity hop character and fragrance.

Clear yellow pour, a touch orange. Basically no head. Aroma is pretty skunky and doughy. Flavor is crisp and pretty clean. I just never like this malt flavor in such light beers. Whether there’s corn in there or not, that’s all I taste. Other than the skunk, which I can’t really blame the brewer for in this case, there’s no real off flavors. I guess this is about as cleanly as you can pull the style off. Even so, maybe it could offer something more than this. Just a slight wash of hops in the back for balance, just enough to clean the malt off the tongue in the finish, but not enough to really enjoy. I don’t care for the style, but I think it can still be done better than this.

En let pilsner med en hvis bitter skarphed. Ikke det helt vilde øl, faktisk lidt kedeligt.

Lagers are generally not my thing. So wasn’t up for much interest when this appeared in front of me. But with it’s smooth taste of light malts and balanced bitterness I was happy to polish it off. No hop aroma’s to speak. When other reviews mentioned grainy, I was confused this is anything but grainy. The carbonation is just right for me, perhaps not for a lager but like I said, I normally avoid lager.

Bottle, pours clear light yellow with a white head. Pretty herbal aroma, with some corn, hay. Taste is pretty grainy, somewhat dusty, with grassy, cereal and herbal notes. Fairly sweet with a touch of bitterness, good body, alomst creamy. Quite a nice lager, really.

Draught at the Lyceum pub, London. One of my favourite lagers in the world, so refreshing and easy to drink. Slight sweetness, grass, just very fresh.

tfontana (962) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 15, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is clear, highlighter yellow with minimal sparkle, less than finger-width white foamy head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is English hops and cracker malts, light fruit. Taste is as aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with watery texture, soft carbonation and crisp, nondescript finish. Overall, softer and fuller than most lagers, light fruit and English hops make presence known more than average lager, but nothing special.

Hazed pale golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Malty, mild grain, mild fruity and herbal flavor. Decent and easy to drink.

Bottle. Clear yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma has a quick whiff of sulphur, then corn and cereal. Taste is very lightly bitter straw. Decent.

16.9 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste of grass, grain and caramel.

355ml bottle bb03/2016, Maruhn. Unspectacular lager offering by subtle ale masters SS: artificial carbonations results in a rougher prickle, transporting: cornsweet biscuit grains, an inkling of grassy-herbal hops going on lemonade soon stuck in dusty grain, dried celery leaving a dry papery finish with a dungy vegetable twang. Subpar to many a Bavarian Helles, obviously flawed but still drinkable.

500ml bottle. A pleasant light refreshing lager, one of the best I have tried.
