Bottle. Best by Jan. ’07. Clear amber, thin creamy head. Toffee pudding aroma with vanilla. Smooth on the palate with caramel, marzipan and a bit of ash. Long alcohol burn. A little thin in body. Pretty good though.

Bottle. Dark gold with a small head. Aromas are sweet caramel malts with pear, brown sugar, spices and lots of alcohol. Flavours are sweet and syrupy caramel and toffee malts with some burnt toffee notes. Sticky sweetness with caramelised Autumn fruit. Prickly hops on the finish with fair bitterness. Good stuff.

Copper amber colour. Huge burnt bready malt aroma, sweet and alcoholic. And the taste is much the same, just more alcoholic: fiery, warming, puddingy and spicy. Not really an August summer cooler you say? Well, here in England rain pours from a leaden sky, and the cricket Cup Final has been abandoned for the day.

(Bottled) Slightly hazy amber-golden with a small head. Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar, hints of chlorine, vanilla, anise. Sweetish, very grainy-malty flavor with dried fruitiness and brown sugar, some vanilla and light spiciness. Like a sweet dessert wine. Medium to full body with low carbonation. A very balanced and quite enjoyable, although not hugely complex, dessert barley wine.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 2, 2009
(BBE 11/08) Dark amber colored with little light brown head. Toffee-chocolaty aroma with nice vanilla-vinous touch, sweet raisins with thin alcohol, good one. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is drier with well developed raisinny and vinous tone, aftertaste turns to vinous and dry with lemon, thin alcohol also comes up. I like this.
