Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Sweet citric hops, light boozy sweetness, marmalade, bubble gum, a bit of sweetness and mild-moderate bitterness, followed by a quick hoppy finish. Fine. bb (9697) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 28, 2015
Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and light pine aroma with light caramel. Caramel and grapefruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with light caramel. User134089 (1644) - - JUL 24, 2015
Glass: 12-oz. pint goblet (I think)
From: Monkey Paw Brewing in San Diego, Calif.
Purchased: July 21, 2015
Consumed: July 21, 2015
Poured a honey, orange, hazy color with two fingers of frothy head when I got it, but it was pretty dark in this place. Really good layered foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Average retention. (Sight - 4.13)
Initially got a mix of orange blossom and wet dirty shoes on the nose. Also Citra zest, gritty nectarine rind, caramel and wet dog food. Nasty. (Smell - 2.25)
Luckily not wet dirty dog food in the taste like the nose. Boozy bitter alcohol, orange rind, Citra zest, light caramel and sharp nectarine. Very unbalanced. (Taste - 2.50)
Light-to-medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Boozy, astringent finish. (Feel - 2.50)
This was just not very good. It started bad with the smell and hardly got any better. (Overall - 2.38)

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a clear gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma forces up big pine hop notes that seem sappy fir tree like with thin ribbons of sweet malts and a dash of caramel malts. The taste is full up robust malt sticky hoppiness that’s largely firm resiny pine hops that are tempered slightly by the malt sweetness. There seems to be a bit of citrus hops going on in the background that is trying in vain to be heard over all of the pine that is going on. It gets a little bready here and there as a few more ounces are consumed. This is a big bruising flavor experience. hapjydeuce (1002) - Carlsbad, California, USA - AUG 9, 2014
Tap at O’Briens. Clear golden color with low carbonation. Aroma of grapefruit, rum cake and wet grass. Flavor leans sweet with heavy crystal malt character with strong alcohol and back-end notes of clove and orange citrus. Lasting bitterness. Lacking balance and heavy on the sweetness. Needs more dry-hopping.

Tap at Benchmark. Pours a clear golden with medium white foam. Wispy lacing. Nose is juicy melon, grain, sage. Taste is sticky melon, durian, nutty/aggressive bitterness. Mild vegetal notes. Stickier, thicker body. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 2, 2013
On tap @ Benchmark. Light golden pour with a white head. Grapefruit, light alcohol, mild malt, and pine. Sweet flavor of caramel and bread, pine, and grass. Bitter and kind of sharp on the finish.
