(sampled at 8th annual Foamfest at the CO state fair 8/27/11). Dark brown color. Medium tan head with good retention. Moderate chocolate and roasted malt/coffee aroma and flavor. Avg duration. Light bitter finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Good lacing.
Draft at the brewpub. Pours very dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Tastes like earthy malt, burnt toast, and dark coffee. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like earthy malt, burnt toast, dark coffee, and dried fruit. zoucrew102 (1880) - - JUL 13, 2014
Bottle, thanks Russ! Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Pours black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly and very little lacing. Starts with a strong roast flavors and a hint of coffee. Finishes dry and smooth with with a hint of chocolate. Decent stout. DrinkEmUpJones (1069) - Georgia, USA - NOV 6, 2011

Dark brown. Light roast and malt sugar on the nose. Thin, with astringent roast. Finishes poorly, with this thin harsh stuff. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 10, 2011
Draft @ brewpub. Black with small tan head. Coffee aroma is simple. Smooth and creamy palate is thin. Decent and on the dry side for an oatmeal stout. Just the slightest bit of oat sweetness.

draft. mild semi-sweet chocolate and roast with creamy & starchy oatmeal body and flavor. low bitterness, drying finish, light body. overall plain and average but altogether not bad. avalancher34 (58) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - SEP 2, 2010
On tap at SLV Brew Co. A beautiful looking stout that is very lacking in body and mouthfeel. I was anxious to try it after having the pitch black stout with a thick head set down in front of me. Smelling some decent malt and toast aromas, I took a sip, then a draw and instantly became disappointed. There’s just not much body here. Where the rich taste? The linger after a draw? No body, no ’gusto’ to this stout. drjay44 (3712) - Salida, Colorado, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Sampler at the brewery. Pours a lasting mocha head, with minimal lacing, over a dark brown (SRM 35) clear body.....nose is dark roasted malts (coffee, chocolate)........taste is heavy with coffee, chocolate, finishing with moderate hop bitterness.....mouth feel is rich, thick and creamy, carbonation low. Although slightly light, this has all of the correct characteristics. Tasting of 11/13/09. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2009
