Draught at the brewpub, Doppelbock with honeyRatman197 (14664) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Dark brown color; compact head; it’s nicely served in a wine glass. Pleasant aroma, of honey and alcohol; very light smoke. Good body strength, malt flavor, quite sweet, caramel, chestnut honey. Strong ending bitterness. The alcohol warms the mouth. The only negative points: too cold, and a bit metallic mouthfeel in the end. Very good.
750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear brown withj a lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness, yeast and light spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness and spice with a smooth lingering fruity finish. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 25, 2013
from Drinks of the World, Bern - cloudy chestnutty in colour and with a quite persistent head; aroma of honey and wet brushwoods; fizzy and with a good malt backbone; some fair initial sweetness and a late gentle acidity to bring some balance; some residual sweetness and more honeyish tones in the finish slowrunner77 (11911) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 13, 2014
"A pleasant addition to our tasting from a buddy’s beerpulse rare beer club membership. Heavy for a bock, kinda light for a doppel. Love the honey in the aroma. While the flavor is pleasant as well, it’s pretty simple and not quite as complex as the aroma would have you believe. Solid." daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Brownish pour, off white head. Honey and more honey in this one. Malty, bready notes and honey all over the place!

Bottle... Clear dark copper pour with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is a medley of toasted malts, dates and figs. Medium-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is toasty and chock-full-of dried dark fruits, accompanied by a modest measure of roasty bitterness. Finishes bready, minerally and a touch bitter. daniele (9018) - ITALY - JAN 20, 2010
