Pours dark. Little head. Smells malty and taste is better than I expected. Syrupy sweetness on the taste. Pretty good actually.

BeerGuru75 (1) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - JAN 16, 2018 does not count
Purchased at AAFES Class 6 at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, VA 11.2 oz bottle. Really a big letdown. Watery and weak at the start; picked up a bit later but not enough oomph for me. Nose is sweet malty but too sweet for me. No trace of ANY hops to my nose or taste but they have to be in there somewhere. Definitely not sessionable. No date markings; how it got from Manila through Skaggs (US importer) and into AAFES and onto shelf in VA likely not efficient, effective or economical.

GregMooreNH (252) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 15, 2018
Pours dark amber with heavy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is caramel exclusively. Taste is sweet toffee, moving to a light coffee flavor with a hint of cinnamon. Finish is smooth, but without note. Not as bad as I was expecting. A decent lager, if you are drinking a lot of them.

BlackHaddock (7956) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2018
330ml bottle (as Cerveza Negra) from Total Wine & More, Laguna Hills. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass while on holiday in California. Dark brown body with a ruby hue, thin head that soon turned into a wisp and collar. Malty molasses in the nose and taste, pretty sweet from start to finish, in fact one of the sweetest Dunkel biers I have ever had; good job I have a sweet tooth.

3.3
tfontana (1184) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 24, 2017
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from The Beer Store, Nashua. Appearance is clear, dark brown/ruby read with nice sparkle, 2-finger width foamy light brown head with decent retention and trace lacing. Aroma is earthy roasted malt, mildly floral with European hops. Taste is strong brown bread, earth, honey, mild nuts and fruit. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not complex and a little to the cloyingly sweet side, but flavorful and enjoyable.

330ml bottle at home. Pours hazy chocolate brown with a thin tan, fading tan head. Dark sweet malt, molasses (lots of molasses), brown bread. Light carbonation. Sweet malt finish with some faint hops bitterness. Not at all what I was expecting, and much better.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a cloudy dark brown color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is caramel malt, slight hops and bread. The flavor is malt driven with a hint of bread flavor.
