If you’ve had San Miguel in Europe before 2010 it is likely you had a version ranging from 4.5% to 5% - most likely 4.8% - brewed in Spain. Put your rating at San Miguel (Spain)

If you had San Miguel outside Europe, you most likely had a version brewed in the Philippines or Hong Kong. Either this one, the one termed San Miguel Pale Pilsen, or the one termed San Miguel Premium All-Malt. It is possible that they are all the same beer, but with different names, but at this point we don’t know for sure.

Bottle. Pours light yellow with a thin white head. Grainy malt aroma. Sugary sweet with some cereal malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet, no bitterness. Not that bad.

harrisoni (19327) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2005
Bottle . Had it on a train because there was nothing else cold on a hot day. Pale gold, yep looks like a lager, tastes like a lager. Not offensive not rubbish, but nothing exciting either

Oakes (18794) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 18, 2001
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2006 Dull gold. Bland malt nose. Bland malt taste. Watery body. No particular finish. As nondescript as a beer gets.

Benzai (16682) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2015
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear pale golden color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, rice, sweetness initially, a bit sweet-sour and a bit plant - like. Weird. Low body and carbonation.

Camons (13312) - Hasselager, DENMARK - APR 18, 2011
Bottle @ Home. Pours light yellow with a fast dimishing white head. Aroma is malt, corn and citrussly hops. Taste is rather sweet, malt, corn and grass, light hops bitterness in the finish. Thin body, licely carbonation. Cheap beer to be drunk very cold on a hot beach or the like, and in that aspect not to bad. 180411

Based on draught version: Light amber lager with white head. Below average taste....

slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 5, 2014
not sure of the difference between this and the Spanish version. I’ve had em both, and they both kinda suck almost equally. Need to have a side by side...

Bottle @ my parents.
Pours pale golden with a small, nice, creamy, white head. Aroma is sweet, some hay and weak brewing cereal. High carbonation and rather thin mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, some maize and just a touch of hops. Better than most beers in the same class.

faroeviking (11215) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - DEC 18, 2008
Can. Clear golden, short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma is a bit sweet with some malt and grains. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour is mild with grains and malt, ends a bit sweet and lightly bitter. Thanks Buddi and demi.
