Pours a cloudy golden amber color with white head that fades quickly. Aroma of grains with citrus and possibly a honey accent. Hoppy flavor - maybe more is present, but the carbonation is way to overpowering. Odd bittery, musty finish.
Disappointing. DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 4, 2005
(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) Well, this doesn’t smell very pleasant. Lightly sweet, maybe some honey aroma, but really, it just smells like a cheap, grainy macro. Grainy and mildly sweet, but the moderate bitterness in the finish makes for a horrendous aftertaste. This may, in fact, taste worse than some macros. Light bodied, thin and watery. Pale golden color, fairly hazy in appearance, with a long-lasting, white head that doesn’t pour to a very tall height, but sure holds it well. And there’s plenty of patchy lacing on the glass too. Sure wish this beer tasted as good as it looks. And it’s not that this doesn’t taste good, it actually tastes bad. It’s offensive. It’s drain pour, that’s what it is. Almost clear deep golden pour with about 1/4" of well-retained white head. Aroma was sweet and malty but not very strong, with just a little floral hop presence. Very carbonated and fleeting from the palate.. not too pleasant. Sweet malty flavor with an odd floral hop character to it. Mild sweet aftertaste. Some lacing. Brew wasn’t offensive, but was certainly not exciting in any regard. Braudog (6944) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 6, 2005
Golden? OK, maybe in a dark hazy way. Firm head. Sweet malty aroma. Biscuity at first, but generally there’s really little to this beer’s flavor ... maybe a hint of some spice? Eh ... Mangino (1027) - Mississippi, USA - JUL 17, 2005
Pours a dark golden color, small white head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Flavor is watery, sweet, with very little hop presence.

Poured a medium golden color with a smaller sized white head. Not real much to the aromas and tastes to this one. Some spices and mostly malts. Nothing really distinct. Maybe some light caramel in there. Thinner body. Metalhead (644) - Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2005
For a supposedly well crafted micro this stuff blows.Very one dimensional tongue scraper brew. Knda tastes like it was brewed with bottom of the creek water. Blah! JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 30, 2005
Darkish amber, minimal fading head. Budweiser papery hops aroma. Fake sweet roses with budweiser hops taste and finish. A bit too sweet... I’d prefer a Bud I think, because of its simplicity. jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 18, 2004
Pours a thin white head that thins, but is kept alive by sheer force of will. Nose is weird - lavender ? Thank god it’s weak. Color is hazy blonde. Taste is flowery too., but pretty bland overall. Sharp up front then fizzy and fruity. A pretty indecent beer. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - NOV 29, 2004
Bottle: Golden hue with initial big frothy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of grassy hops, soapy and bready, light lemon and apple, not much else. The taste was crisp light fruits and a small sample of hops. Yep your standard "for the masses and just above the level of swill" blond ales. The feel was crisp and refreshing, but then again so is cold water on a hot day. Pass.
