Rich, chocolate, coffee stout aroma. No head, fully opaque. Small bubble. Very, very good flavor. Has some hop bitterness; is robust, almost like a porter. A little creamy and somewhat dry. One of the State's better offerings. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - SEP 21, 2003
Opaque hue with huge tan creamy head and very good lace. Aroma had a big chocolate malt character plus some hints of wood, hay fields, and coffee. Taste followed suit, sweet milk chocolate and bitter coffee notes. Lush oatmeal feel supported the dry and lively mouthfeel. Wonderful low cost sweet stout, how I love a chocolate/coffee based stout. loweredsixth (946) - Clovis, California, USA - SEP 19, 2003
Nice blackish/brown color with a light brown head. The aroma was full on milk chocolate...wonderful. Some oats initially in the aroma. The flavor was very oaty, nutty, with some nice milk chocolate in the aftertaste. The body was too thin for the robust chocolateness...a thicker feel would make this stout great. Very good...right down my alley! SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 19, 2003

Dark in colour thin tan head. Lots of hops in the nose some malts. The taste is wattery and hoppy malty. Oveall quite un impressive.
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2003 Bottled. Intense chocolate and kona coffee smell upon opening. A thin brown head with little lacing, but still dense enough that the last few drops leave a small ring. Sweet, creamy oatmeal texture with a milk chocolate taste, espresso, and a hint of plums. Nice and sweet, but a dry, sherry like finish. A delightful and complex beer from this otherwise obscure brewery. I found it at the brewer's hometown IGA for $6.19 a sixer, so it should get extra points for being a great Wisconsin-priced value.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2003 Black with a tan head. Oatmeal in the taste but I couldn't pick up any chocolate. Heavy. Good. brewblackhole (1588) - Muskego, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 11, 2003
Dark body, quickly disappearing head, mocha like aroma, the first taste is a very pleasant yummy chocolately taste, which however only lasts for the first couple sips. It then seems to become a little to bitter and thin. I'd buy it again just for those first sips Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - AUG 9, 2003
very nice black color, small creamy head that faded quite quickly.Very nice roasted aroma with a good amount of chocolate and a faint smokey smell as well. The taste is very roasty again with a nice chocolate coming through and decent carbonation, theres a slight burnt taste to it and a very faint smoke that seems to keep coming up in the taste. The after taste is chocolate and mild bitter hops. This is definately a keeper very tasty and highly drinkable. The nose is all chocolate and roasted malt. Nice looking. Hefty body for style. Loads of chocolate malt taste, then roasty, then a very tingly hop finish - I was intrigued enough to see how fresh it was, and my suspicions were confirmed - bottling date was les than 2 months ago. Chocolate is overdone for my taste, but still it was pretty good. igneous1 (1538) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - JUL 29, 2003
