Had this one on draught at Brew Daze 2006. Without a doubt, one of the finest IPA’s out there. Light orangy-yellow pour with a fine head, very pronounced hoppiness, with roses and apple in the nose, and one of the most potent, overwhelming bitterness of hops. Finishes smooth and clean. Outstanding. LKay (166) - Maryland, USA - DEC 25, 2012
Very decent. Would love to try this again. Had a few sips, but they went fast! beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - OCT 2, 2006
Misty medium golden hay. Firm finger high off-white foam grows up vastly to the top as its poured. Keeps a thin skim present and the lacing is in a thinny placed sheeting staying close to home nearer the edge of the liquid.
Aroma is clean and hoppy with a nice oily, lemon, grapefruit, orangey blow of aromatic hoppyness. Nice fresh floral ascents within its fruity strength. A decent whiffer.
Taste is solid, firm, and lenghty. Slimming sourness of tropical fruityness ensues across the palate with a delightful surge of a wonderfully played sense of paled orange, lemon, and grapefruit. The citrusy realm of this is quite nice. Mild, yet intense in length with a nicely balanced play of malty, background sweetness and pithy-like bitterness. Very well rounded in flavor, tone, and body. Simple, but somehow intriguingly powerful with its longevity and upfront hoppyness. Mind you, this isn’t a bittering hoppyness. More about the flavor then the bite, and its nice.
Feel is about a medium body; smooth, clean, wet, slippery, and well-rounded, with a certain crispened tang of sweetness to go with the hoppy, mild citric toned bite.
A humungously easy drinkin’ IPA from the cheesiest of cheese states; Wisconsin. Bold, calming, and well crafted. A true treat of the Midwest IPA nature. Bockyhorsey (2638) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JUL 26, 2006
12oz. bottle. Citrus grapefruit aroma detectable without putting nose in the glass. Copper body good white head and good amout of lacing. Good dose of ctirus hop flavor that is cool and crisp on the palate. Some lingering dry grapefruit for aftertaste. realale420 (399) - west covina, California, USA - AUG 21, 2006
12oz bottle (thanks to buckybeer) poured a slightly hazy pale/gold color with a great rocky head and nice lacing around the glass. The aromas were right on the money with a good malt backing and nice floral piney/citrus hops. Taste had good bitterness that faded to a big hop flavored dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Apricot color with a fluffy off-white head. Just a great looking beer when poured into a snifter. Aroma is mostly pine and grapefruit, always a nice sign. Taste is spicy pepper with fresh hops and a prickly carbonation. This IPA is way underrated. Nice tangerine zest makes it crisp and refreshing. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - SEP 10, 2006
12 oz bottle. Deep orange in color with a nice fluffy off white head. Citrusy hoppy and piney aroma. Grapefruit and orange notes. Peppery hoppy flavor. Sharp tasting. Medium bodied. Finish is citrusy. Crisp and refreshing. Very nice beer. Enjoyable. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - SEP 25, 2006
12oz bottle via trade with buckybeer - Thanks Mark! - Pours bright amber cloudy with a fluffy white head that stays well and laces the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, and some mandarine orange over faint caramel malts. Flavor is all bitter upfront with lots of pine and grapefruit, but that gives way to a fair malt backbone and some mandarine orange flavor. Finish is rather bitter and dry.. Soft mouthfeel with good carbonation and medium body.. Quite thirstquenching and refreshing after mowing the lawn. This one is a pretty solid IPA. Bottle from buckybeer. Hazy orangy pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of big hops, citrus, including grapefruit and oranges. Tastes very hoppy, piney, and citrusy, with the orange and grapefruit making a big palate hit, and a solid malt backbone. Another great beer from Ed Gein’s home state. murrayswine (101) - Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 18, 2007
Just got 5 cases of this in. Comped myself a bottle for me and Battlekow.
Pours a straw-gold color. Decent head and sturdy lace.
Smell is Hops, Hops, citrus, Hops, and Hops. The malt sense is only in theory and possible speculation in this beer.
Taste is unruly, almost unhealthy hops. Shit this is hoppy for a basic IPA. The front is dry hop, and the finish is slightly green hop, but hop hell none the less.
It’s not for the weak bodied IPA drinkers. Battlekow said it "Harshed his Mellow"
