At the brewery: Poured cloudy yellow with a small white head. Mild banana and spice aroma. Nice full flavored hefe- light banana and moderately spicy. Very well made, this is a very good beer. Not surprising Sandlot won some GABF medals. SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUN 4, 2006
Draft @ Coors Field. Cloudy gold pour with a creamy head. The smell is wonderful, even out of the plastic cup it’s served in. Deep notes of banana and vanilla mingle with lighter notes of clove and fruit. The medium body is creamy and smooth with more banana and bready malts. Really tastes like banana cream pie, with a hint of lemon. This really is a good example of a Hefe and would gladly drink it time and time again over the other BMC offered at the ballpark. Now only if they would serve their beers throughout the park and not just on the main concourse! harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JUL 19, 2006
Great big yeasty aroma, nicely spiced, with the clove and banana, taking the forefront as your would expect. Banana bread maltiness, slightly sweet with some lemony acidity, balanced out by just the right amount of carbonation. Decent for a ballpark beer whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2005
Draught at the Sandlot. Cloudy deep straw body with a pure white head. Aroma has medium banana and bubble gum esters with a soft clove note and good yeast character. Pineapple citrus flavor with a smooth phenolic and lightly bitter finish. Medium, wheaty texture. Solid, stylish hefe. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2005
Strong banana cream pie aroma with notes of coconut and lemon and light, spicy cloves. Opaque yellow body is topped by a decent, white, fine bubbled head that recedes to ring. Banana flavour is strong with underlying, lightly tart wheat. Medium light body with strong, crisp carbonation. Sampled on tap at the Sandlot at Coors Field.

Head is mostly lasting.
Body is hazy light yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (bread), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a strong note of banana, light note of clove.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
I’m being maybe a little enthusiastic with my score, as it’s quite sweet and a little one-dimensional in the nose (banana, banana, banana, and bread). However, it is unquestionably enjoyable and rich for the style, and I enjoyed it the most of the three I had in this session. notalush (5878) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Turbid gold - frothy head - nose is strong clove and white pepper phenols, along with some earthy, tangy wheat - low.carbonation, medium body - bubblegum esters are a bit high in the flavor, as is thr banana - I prefer drier, more peppery and clove-heavy hefes - it presents this in the nose, but only in the finish in flavor - however, still a solid hefe - way better than most American examples. Very hazy light yellow appearance. Fresh pale malt aroma with light banana notes. Sweet, creamy character, fresh-tasting with the esters and phenols kept rather subdued, leaving the focus to the pale malts. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 22, 2009
Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 25/09/2009 (As Wild Pitch Hefeweizen)
Banana fruit aroma. Golden coloured a little hazy in appearance and fruity with a little dryness in a crisp and creamy malt finish. tmoreau (4374) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Tall, competition swing top bottle labeled "Wild Pitch Hefeweizen", lightly roused, then poured to a Czech-pils glass with a hazed, light gold color, plenty of rising, effervescent bubbles, a bubbly, white head of foam that quickly diminished to a small ring and film, and left a modest amount of spots and streaks of lacing. The aroma was light yeast, light grain, ripe banana, and mellowed spice as clove. The flavor added to these a noticeable, but not overbearing sweetness. Lively carbonation and low hop bitterness combined to project a nice crispness. The body was light+, but not watery. Flavorfully sessionable!
