The first of the Brewery beers, Sands, named after the owner’s family. SANDS is a full-bodied beer with a smooth, soft, pleasant texture and a presentation of classic gold color.

Sip a Sands and taste the crisp, fine bitterness with large and abundant flavors that the locals call "the number one truly refreshing Bahamian Beer

SANDS "Truly Bahamian" Beer was launched on December 15th, 2007 in Grand Bahama Island, and was brewed to quench the Bahamian thirst, creating a specific definitive flair that was missing in the Bahamas beer market.

The combined knowledge of both the German brewing experts, local Bahamian Brewery team and owners has helped this newly launched beer become the hit of the Islands of the Bahamas.

SANDS was due to be distributed in Grand Bahama only, but by early January 2008 -- it was a national Bahamian Brand!

Drank shit loads of this shitty beer while @ the amazing Radison in Freeport. $12 buckets of 6 cans poolside was 1/2 the price of water or pop. Turned down a brewery tour but probably should have gone. Crystal clear, no hops, some apple/acetaldehyde. I’m not sure if it was the acetaldehyde or the fact I drank about 12 of these before 2pm in the sun but I had a raging headache by 4pm. Probably dehydration but I’ll blame the acetaldehyde in the beer.

Pours a light golden, pale straw color. Clear. Fizzy white carbonation, one finger at most. Poor retention, poor lacing.

Aroma is not much. Light spicy hops, light straw, little more. Suspiciously close to euro lager aroma, but without the skunk.

Taste is lightly sweet, mildly bitter and spicy. Again reminds me of euro lager.

Mouthfeel is light bodied. Soft, very refreshing.

Overall, it’s not bad. If I were in the Bahamas again, I’d go with this one. Back at home, I’d consider it, but go with something else. So, if you’re in the Bahamas, yes, try it!

Light chemicals with some bleach like a broken washing machine. Golden pour. Quite foul. Chemical tang aftertaste. Bottle

Picked up in Freeport whilst on a cruise stop. Pale gold in colour with a small white head. Light aroma of corn, grass and hop. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Light body, texture has a creamy feel, average carbonation. Drinkable in the sunshine.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2017 Bottle courtesy of Raffaella C. and Marco A. L’intensità olfattiva è normale e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente.

Purchased during a Bahamas Vacation Cruise. Clear straw yellow. Simple light lager. Refreshing, crisp and clean but nothing special.

Multiple cans while at Atlantis. This is the perfect example Of a beer that you enjoy there and then go back to the good stuff when you return. Light lager goes well with heat but not that good. Nose is light malt and grain and body is light but a bit heavier than kalik or kalik gold. Smooth and light but nothing amazing. Grains and cereal and malt with nothing else to write home About.

The aroma is malt and grass and slightly skunky. The appearance is golden. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is typical. The palate is thin. Overall not as bad as expected.

Jan. 27, 2016; multiple 11.5 oz. bottles sampled over a week in the Bahamas. Sands (as well as Sands Light) is the perfect example of a "When In Rome" beer. It will garner no awards in critical taste-testing against the best lagers in the world. However, you can drink a lot of this inoffensive brew without devastating results, and they are refreshing on a sunny island day.

It pours light golden with minimal head. The aroma is heavy in the grassy hops with bits of floral and hints of malt. The flavor is dominated by grassy elements that are sweet with a mild bitter finish. It is light on the palate and easy drinking.

A little sweetness in the taste, but refreshing and good to drink at the beach. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
