3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2012 Tropical fruit aroma, especially lychee. Sticky sweet citrus flavours. Quite thick and sticky. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Quite well balanced.
Smells great. Good IPA upfront but the backend is rough. Crazy bitter and dry after taste. Leaves your mouth dry. Hoppy and citrus taste. Had this poured from draft at the Santa Barbara brewing company. kryon (3929) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 13, 2013

Draft @the brewpub. Pours a golden color with a small white head. has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 14, 2012
Pours a clear golden in color with a white head. A decent hoppiness, some citrus of grapefruit, orange peel, and tangerine. Some sweet bread and malt aromas. Fairly middle of the road as far as IPA aromas. The flavor is quite sweet with a lot of tangerine and candied orange peel. Sweet bready malt, and light grapefruit. A mild bitterness. Not bad, but not all that good of an IPA. aaronbr (195) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Nice sweet, hoppy aroma and a clear, yellow color, on tap at the brewpub. Pretty standard IPA - nothing too special, but hits the spot. Very balanced, goes well with the chicken sandwich lunch on a beautiful day in SB. SDbruboy (1863) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 29, 2012
On draft at brewpub. Not bad, but neither is it remarkable. Pretty standard brewpub IPA. Golden and clear, spotty lace. Mild aroma featuring dusty and floral notes. Grainy malts, big hop profile featuring citrus and herby character. Med body with creamy carb. User134089 (1644) - - DEC 26, 2011
Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Santa Barbara Brewing Company in Santa Barbara, Calif. Going with the “retired” Castle Rock IPA since it was only labeled “India Pale Ale” on the board. Going with what the last rated did. Anyway, the color was light caramel. Maybe an inch of head. Frosty film on the sides. Lasting lacing on the top.
Smelled of citrus hops, particularly lemon and grapefruit. Floral notes in there as well.
Pretty similar tastes to the nose. Citrus hops, lemon and grapefruit.
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish.
I really liked this beer. The smell was the best part, but it was an above average IPA for me. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 12, 2011
