COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Built in 1881 to showcase the electrification of the west, San Jose’s Electric Light Tower stood for over 30 years as a shinning star above the Santa Clara Valley. Our Electric Tower IPA reimagines this icon as an intensely West Coast Style IPA. A firm malt base builds support for the abundance of hops, allowing hints of pine, citrus and tropical fruit to shine through and light up your palate!

Contract brewed at Hermitage Brewing Co. until 2015.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a fairly clear orange amber with a thin white head. Spicy citrus on the nose, soft lemon and orange. Medium bodied, bright citrus, thick sweet malt, a touch of fruit. Malty into the finish, warming alcohol and cool hops. Earthy with some cool grapefruit on the finish. Nice stuff.

I found this beer to be drinkable, but not particularly tasty. I probably won't choose this particular IPA again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

With Z, a bomber pours a light rusty copper orange color with a beige head. Nose is tropical citrus with softer pine and resin. Taste is pine and resin with bittersweet hoppiness. Finishes on the same tasting notes with a moderately long bittersweet hoppy finish ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

Bomber. Pours a copper orange with a beige head and aroma of hops and pine. Taste is bitter, hops, pine, citrus, tropical fruits along with malt and caramel notes into the dry, bitter finish.

What a pleasant surprise. Really enjoyable, drinkable IPA - Despite not tons of balance. Deep Golden/apricot with a white head. Fluff. Citrus, sweet hopped nose. Nice carbonation profile. Apricot, citrusy hips - nothing overwhelming here. High drinkability. ---Rated via Beer Buddy App

The 22oz bomber pours with a clear copper to gold body that supports an off white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up a good bit of citrus to mango fruity hoppiness and then a firm onion like dank spicy hoppiness. Nice. The taste delivers both juicy citrus to mango fruity hoppiness as well as spicy and hop bitterness. I’m really liking this. It’s grapefruit, tangerine, mango, lime and a bit of pine hops leading straight into firm spicy onion hop dankness and then lesser amounts of earthy tea. This particular bottle is showing some age but it is really hitting the spot right. I’d love to try this fresh.

On draft. Huge aroma of pine and melon. Dense lace. Flavors of honeydew and a hint of pepper, backed by chocolatey crystal (?) malts. Unique. Tremendous.

Starts nice but with a slightly sour finish. A big hop bomb for sure. Overall a pretty damn good beer.
