Our darkest ale is a true American Stout. Black as a moonless night and full of chocolate and roasted barley flavor, This beer has a creamy, velvety texture from the oats and finishes smooth.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly. Strong aroma of coffee and heavily roasted malt. Taste mimics nose, but with a moderately bitter finish. A bit watery on the palate.

Nice head on this beer fore sure took bout 20 min. To pour. The smell is roasted malt with a little bit of sweetness. The taste is almost chocolate vannilla kinda taste. Not bad for an oatmeal stout, its medium/full bodied and leaves a chocolate aftertaste. The oatmeal is lacking but still a respectable beer.

On tap at Whale City Bakery Bar & Grill in Davenport, CA. Opaque, black brown with fine, creamy tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of toasted coffee, chocolate and dark, smoky malt. Taste sweet, toasted dark malt and coffee. Medium to light body with ample carbonation and a creamy, foamy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep dark brown coloured body with a bit of a cola glow at the bottom and a rich, thick, eight centimetre tall (HUGE) head, about right as a brown colour. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, raisins, nuts, earth and a bit of cherries and lactic scents. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep roasty flavour with a ton of cherries, milk, earth, anise, raisins and pit fruits, with a good complex finish. Aftertaste shows a proper blend of oatmeal depth, roasty malt, earthy hops and a good sweetness. Overall, a nice oatmeal stout with some good complex flavours, a nice finish that shows good depth and a still light enough beer to not be bogged down after a few sips - still too much carbonation though, and the size would be better in twelve ounce bottles. That said, the price was right! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 03-February-2012 for US$3.89 sampled at home in Washington on 16-April-2012.

Pour was pretty dark and the head overtook half the glass, was a little surprised. The aroma was a little harsh imo. The taste was just about average with more carbonation than I like to see from an oatmeal stout. This beer didn’t do much for me.

22oz - Nice color and lace. Palate was good but a little too light in flavor.

Bomber from Hayduke. We had a bottle together via facebook chat. What a gusher! This beer should be corked and caged for safety. The pressure both of our bottles were under were dangerously high. While poured it was also massive foam for every pour. The aroma was roasted and chocolate notes with some cream. Those were prominent flavor themes. Later I tasted hops that might have been Cascade. They brought bitterness and citrus. After that some spice was tasted. The carbonation aside, this was a really good beer and I found it right down the middle per style. Patience is required with this one but it is rewarded nicely.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is dark fruit (plums and cherries), roasted malt, and licorice. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, and dark fruit undertones. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth. Good beer.

Dark pour, light brown head. Ash, roasted malt, char, espresso aroma. Roasty and toasty flavors with hints of asphalt and cocoa.

651mL thanks to ygtbsm94. Great head formation- thick tan lace with amazing retention atop clear, deep cola. Amaretto nose with toasted pecans. Taste is hoppy and bitter with oily chocolate. Not bad at all. Mild lactose finish with muted ash and milk chocolate. Mild cocoa. I liked this one even though it’s a bit oily.
