Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt combined with lighter notes of oatmeal. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of oatmeal combined with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish, which also has a light acidic edge from the roasted malt.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle courtesy of JohnCoctosin. Pours a dark black with a thick beige head that took a long time to die down. Aroma of choclate, and roasted malt. On tap @ Beachwood BBQ. Black in color with a tan head. Roasted malt and cocoa powder on the nose. Coffee, slight acidity, and a subtle sweetness. Hints of dark fruit. Bottle. Black pour but not thick. Tan head. Nose is dark roast coffee and a little vanilla extract. Taste is a mouthful of roast and bittesweet chocolate. Palate isn’t as big as I would have thought but the flavor is full even though this is quite drinkable. The body more closely resembles a porter but the flavor is robust enough that you know you are drinking a stout. Enjoyable and drinkable.
