COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Black IPA transcends style. The idea is simple, but the flavor is complex. It is everything you want in a great IPA, but with a little bit of chocolate. The crisp, dry punch of hops leaves you wondering how this beer has such a balanced flavor. The secret is Midnight Wheat. Aromas of passion fruit, citrus, and pine cut their way through the dark malts to both titillate and challenge the senses. The dry finish and dark ebony color are distinctive characteristics for this winter seasonal and make for a smooth and approachable beer for the masses.

Can. Opaque black - brown beer, decent pale tan head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has surprisingly modest carbonation. Mellow but tangy dark malts, mild dark malt cream. Tangy ripe fruits, some prune. Mellow hop spice. Pine. Ripe fruit finish. Tasty if a little ripe.

Can thanks to Daniel. It pours dark brown with small tan head. The aroma is soft, bitter - sweet, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, smores, toffee, toasty pine, and dark fruits. the taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, decent roast, earthy action, wood, resin, burnt pine, cocoa and coffee. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty decent stuff, especially the aroma.

33cl bottle shared at Leightons May tasting. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. It pours a clean brown color with ruby edges and a medium off white head. Aroma is dry tangy toasty and grassy with pine cones and grapefruit. Taste is also medium sweet and lightly dry tangy bitter with more notes of pine cones, apricots, lemon peel, dried leaves, grass and roasted wood. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, OK
