3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
brown, small tan head. day-old coffee, toast and roast, some smoke, slight vanilla. light sweet, medium bitter. medium body, thinnish feel.
Can. Dark brown color, ruby highlights. Clear. Beige head, foamy. Coffee aroma is strong. Bright. Roasty notes, dark bitter chocolate. Flavor is a strong bitterness, dark malts, roasty notes. Bitterness lingers in the finish. Slightly metallic, a bit ashy. Very strong aftertaste. Upon looking, I discovered this can is over 2 years old. Doesn't hold up over time. magsinva (1423) - Virginia, USA - SEP 2, 2017
Can from Bier Station - Pours dark red with a tan head. Aroma is burnt coffee, very thin for a stout. Pass. PatrickYEG (61) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 9, 2017
It has good flavor but I just can't get into "Imperial" beers, whether it's the alcohol percentage I'm not sure but it's not a favorite

This is a tasty beer, if you like coffee. It's pretty rich so you can only have a few.

12 oz. can pours an opaque black with decent beige head that persists and leaves good lacing. Aroma has coffee, roasted malts, molasses, licorice, and cocoa. Taste is bitter with a long finish. Body is full with just enough carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. This is a substantial stout that I’d love to find again.

A secret winner. Very well priced, an extremely good stout in the 8% range. It never lets down. balloonbuffoon (594) - - JUN 18, 2017
12floz can, no freshness date present, paid about $1.50, and poured into a pint glass. Deep, dark brown in color with a retentive light brown head. Decent roasted malt aroma, which carries over to full-bodied palate of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee flavors. Good stout. adancer (10) - - MAY 19, 2017
One of the best smelling beers I've ever laid my nostrils to. Not a fan of coffee, definitely taste the java, yet still amazing.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2017 A deep dark imperial stout with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light pepper notes, light coffee grind, musty character, nice and smooth. In mouth, a sweet mocha chocolate malt with light vanilla, light powdery character, silky mouth feel, light milk character, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice. Can, about 3 years old.
