This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

10/11/13. Can from Derek in a trade. In terms of pure coffee stouts, this could be the most coffee of them all. Pours black. Smell is amazing coffee. Taste is amazing coffee!! If I needed to find a flaw, maybe a little watery on the mouth feel. If you're a pure coffee stout lover, I think it would be hard pressed to find a better one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A secret winner. Very well priced, an extremely good stout in the 8% range. It never lets down.

12floz can, no freshness date present, paid about $1.50, and poured into a pint glass. Deep, dark brown in color with a retentive light brown head. Decent roasted malt aroma, which carries over to full-bodied palate of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee flavors. Good stout.

One of the best smelling beers I've ever laid my nostrils to. Not a fan of coffee, definitely taste the java, yet still amazing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2017 A deep dark imperial stout with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light pepper notes, light coffee grind, musty character, nice and smooth. In mouth, a sweet mocha chocolate malt with light vanilla, light powdery character, silky mouth feel, light milk character, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice. Can, about 3 years old.

On tap at Tap & Bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out subdued coffee and medium roasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with subdued coffee and medium roasted malt. Surprisingly restrained for an impie. Pleasant but lacking oomph.

Can. Dark brown pour, with a shortly lived tan head. Lots of coffee, espresso, chocolate, and caramel. Nice, tasty coffee beer, but not too complex.

Can. Black with an average tan head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and dark roasted malts. Taste is loaded with coffee. Cocoa, vanilla, lactose, and dark roasted malts. Average thickness and lingering coffee flavor.

The coffee in this beer is very pronounced. The roast is too strong for me. Appropriate thickness just too much coffee for my taste.

Shared 12 oz. can. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste follows nose with a dash of lactose. OK.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours from the12 oz can dark brown with a tan head and gorgeous lacing. Nose of coffee and lactose. Full body. Flavor shows some burnt chocolate malt with lactose, but coffee still dominates. Finishes with a lot of the coffee and chocolate and just a hint of bitterness. This is a nice drinking beer.
